explain...

me and my fellow player(s) disagree on To the Limit and Take Cover. If you could explain how you play it in your games. emfisis(forgive the spelling) on Take cover. *don't try to answer a question, tell me a story and give an example of either experience or fiction.*

Umm, okay, I'll bite. I once tried to sing like this and ended up hurting myself (stunned).

Everything about this thread repulses me except for this guys answer.

Perhaps this would work better if YOU explained what the disagreement was?

If you want a quick instructional walkthrough with some fictional application, here you go;

Using Darth Vader, you activate, take a Move action to walk up to a hostile figure, do Force Choke, then play To the Limit to gain the extra action which you use to perform an attack. You resolve the attack and then become Stunned.

You're running a Bantha in a list. Start of Round 2, you've got your Bantha in the thick of things. You activate the Bantha, use Beast Tamer to move it, then use Trample to cause some damage, then with your second action you use Take Cover to give the Bantha +1 Block for the remainder of the round and -2 Accuracy to anyone shooting at it.

Just wanted to point out that To the Limit only grants an extra action after a special action, such as Vader's Force Choke in the example above.

I've tried to type something similar to this about 3-4 times but MEP's Randy Meisner video prevented me from finishing it every time.

Thanks MEP

anytime @buckero0

so far i have good input. Thanks! I didn't notice it had to be a special action. alright for an example: etrandoshan hunter sees Luke 4 spaces away. he gets there and shoots with his weapon. the problem is can he to the limit for another attack? i said no because only one attack in skirmish. he said yes because he is holding a gun.

You can't use To the Limit after performing a regular attack action. You can only use it after using a special action (denoted by the arrow symbol). Even then, you couldn't attack twice in a turn (for example if you use To the Limit on a Nexu after using Pounce, you can't attack with the extra action).

this is what I was trying to tell hem thank you for this.

I think I've only successfully managed to pull off To the Limit once, in a casual skirmish game

Bossk sees enemy about 6 spaces away

Normally (If I don't have to the limit in my hand) I'd move 4 -> shoot

but because I do have it in my hand, I can move 4 -> mini grenade -> shoot -> get stunned. I can do this because IndisFire isn't an attack action

It's very situational

Actually it occurs more times than not. I'd think with Onar ignoring harmful conditions, you could pile Onar and Bossk in a list and have To the Limit for sure as one of your zero pt cards, as you've got a 75% of using it in the average game with 2 viable figures. Weequay could also use it to move, get hidden and shoot

Jabba is also great with it because he can focus someone, play To The Limit, and order hit. He isn't moving nor attacking so he can sit on the stun and still be able to order hit, focus, or draw cards.

Is the single special action the same as a double special action?

i thought you could only use a regular action (like move or shoot) but not a special -> after your to the limit action

A "double" Special Action is a Special Action that requires two Actions to perform.

So yes, things that refer to a Special Action also cover a "double" Special Action.

The action gained from To the Limit can be spent on anything that you can do as an Action, including Special Actions.
