Scum Without JM5Ks

Scum lists have a stigma associated with them because they're generally better, while also being easy(ish) to fly successfully. I don't want to play meta-lists because I have a soul, and I want to win because I'm very competitive. So I came up with the following:

Fenn Rau (34)
Protectorate Starfighter (28), Push the Limit (3), Concord Dawn Protector (1), Autothrusters (2)

Asajj Ventress (44)
Lancer-class Pursuit Craft (37), Push the Limit (3), Latts Razzi (2), Feedback Array (2)

Unkar Plutt (21)
Quadjumper (17), Cikatro Vizago (0), Cloaking Device (2), Spacetug Tractor Array (2)

Totalling 99 points.

I flew a variant of this (engine on Asajj, no cloak or feedback) to a 4-2 record at regionals earlier this year, losing to some amazing players (like worlds cut makers).

The idea is that my opponent simply has to kill Unkar first (especially if he's running small-base ships), which with cloaking device is nearly impossible before he does his thing. Unkar cloaks, then swaps out cloak for an EMP device. He moves into range 1, tractors then makes everyone bump him for more tractors, then ionises everyone in the combat phase so they have to do it again in the next round. He's brutal for his 21 points (I've had him dish out 3 tractor tokens in a single round), and very, very hard to kill.

Both Fenn and Asajj are excellent damage dealers. Asajj has her standard stress thing going on, which is super useful against Dengar these days, not to mention any PTL ace in existence. Fenn in particular I like to play "chase the rabbit with", letting my opponent take range 3 pot shots at him and leading them into bad positioning. It also helps that both Asajj and Fenn are excellent game closers - either of them can solo a lot of lists. I just finished a game where Asajj took on a pretty much full health Rey + 2 TLT Y-wings and narrowly lost (darned Injured pilot crit).

My main concerd is the 3 loose points in the squad - Feedback array and the initiative bid. What can i use them for to alleviate my list's weaknesses?

If you don't like Feedback Array, why not use Black Market Slicer Tools? It's a point cheaper giving you a 2pt initiative bid and it's a great upgrade.

OR you could add APL to Asajj, or Flechette Torps to Fenn, or Ion Bomb or Seismic Charges on Unkar if you want to use the full 100 pts.

Looks like a really good list.

The trick with BMST in this list is that asajj doesn't really have any actions to spare - she needs focus+evade to stop her from being a target priority.

I hadn't thought of APLs on Asajj - that could be really brutal, although I'd prefer Ion Projector here (in combination with Unkar). I fee like flechettes or bobms at either PS 9 or 3 aren't worth it over a larger initiative bid though.

This list has beaten Fenn + Torpboats (flon by an experienced play with dice luck identical to mine during the game), Rey + SnapJukes and narrowly lost to Rey + 2 TLT Y-wings (PS0 and Injured Pilot on Asajj, plus three crits on Fenn).

I would definitely put Pattern Analyzer on Plutt, so stress does not ruin your plan

I made a similar topic a few days ago, don't remember when exactly. I like that list, Fenn Rau is an amazing pilot and asajj is super good, the feedback array though... not totally sure about it.... I've been flying the quadjumper recently and I gotta say it's super fun and the ship is cute in a weird way.... I've trying find no JM5K and no mindlink lists that are competitive. It's certainly not easy when you think you'll have to face mindlink and JM5Ks...

It was suggested in my other topic that I change one of the hounds for VI teroch, and I haven’t tried it, but I find the hounds complement each other, I keep them in a convoy so no one can k turn behind them, and self bump lots of times to control arc. I really love this list and you have 2 points for crews/other upgrades or iniative, at first I had Zuckuss and 4-lom, but after Zuckuss nerf I'm not sure what to put on them.

My big one is Paratanni - since its asajj can double-stress Fenn so easily, then he's dead..

Maybe switch Vizago for inspiring recruit? Depends on how much you use Vizago, if he's a critical/good part of the list then keep him, if not I'd suggest the switch tl avoid the problem.

Vizago is essential, sadly. Without him, Unkar can't reliably cloak, and he dies way sooner than he should.
