I am just looking at Poe based lists and am really struggling to decide on the best build. I'm also not sure what to put him with so it's a bit of a mix and match post to decide on a list.

Firstly to accompany him I'm looking at one to these 3 (I like the Jake and Poe combo for fun more than being meta defining):

1. 33pt Procket Jake with VI Ahsoka (52pts + illicit or crew if wanted)

2. 28pt Jake with Biggs (54pts)

3. 28pt Jake with Stresshog (54pts)

My Poe options (all PS9 Poe) are looking like:

a. Predator, R2-D2, Black One, Sensor Cluster, AT's (45pts)

b. PTL, BB-8, Black One, Pattern Analyser, AT's (43pts)

c. Lone Wolf, R5-P9, Black One, Pattern Analyser, AT's (43pts)

What do you guys think. I've used 1a a few times and quite like it but think that I need to improve how I fly Poe as he generally goes down quick and ale has to bail me out - which he usually does.

The idea with the Biggs option is that can try to take something out before Biggs goes down and then Poe is a little more comfortable with less guns in his direction although Jake has less kick. Stresshog is just because really.

PTL Poe all the way. Though you should use Intensity once it comes out, and for both versions, I'd use Primed Thrusters.

I think both Stresshog and Biggs are you best bets out of those options.

I like PA with PTL Poe because he can end up with no stress after a green and PTL.

I think it's a bit of a toss up between PA and PTs. The PT's mean I can activate BB-8 when stressed on the BB-8 build but the PA means I can talon roll and still focus. It's a pretty tough choice.

No love for regen Poe?

PS 9 Poe with PTL, BO, PA, AT. BB8, R5P9 or R2D2 depends on playing style. PA is much better on Poe than PT, because focus is crucial for Poe.
I would also take both Biggs and Stresshog over Ahsoka. If you play defensive Biggs - if aggressive BTL-Y.

Poe (33), PTL, BB8, BO, PA, AT (41)

Jake (24), title, PTL, VI, Prokets, AT (33)

And either

Biggs (25), R4D6, IA (26)

OR

Gold Sq. (18), TLT, R3A2, title (26)

I think a Regen version of poe is your best bet, since you already have a good flanker in jake.

Either a or c looks good to me. A is very tanks and does not need biggs to survive, c is the more scary late game ship.

The biggest issue lies in damage.

You could downgrade the stress hog to a torpedo hog, go LW poe and get prockets on jake.

I tried a couple test games with Biggs and I really struggle with using him. I think I'm much more of an arc dodger.

the 24pt y-wing build did get me thinking about the 24pt PTL/Juke a-wing build I run in a mini swarm. Can block, fairly hard to take down so preserves MOV and Juke means it can still be a threat. May like that more than Ashoka, Biggs or Stresshog.

The actual Poe build will need some experimentation though.

Is Dash not a viable companion? They way I have him built

he can support up to 45 points of Poe. I was thinking something like:

although I can see where the PTL can be swapped there, this could be good.

Your math is wrong. The Poe build your suggesting would be 43 points, not 41.

Unfortunately I'm without a YT2400 so Dash is out but he would be a good option otherwise.

I'm also aiming to have a decent initiative bid as I really want to be arc-dodging (or at the very least not allowing my opponent to line up perfect range 1 Fenn shots!

Go for focus token most of the time, and with Expertise you don't need to use it for offense. Hold it for Poe's pilot bonus for defense, and then at the end use it for R5-P9 regen. Stress hurts, but you can still reposition with PT. Optionally swap Integrated Astro for VT, but you're already getting expensive.

Take green maneuver, trigger BB8 barrel roll, off that barrel roll trigger PTL, after PTL stress you execute the green maneuver to clear it and take your regular action. You end up with barrel roll before movement plus 2 actions and no stress. Make one of the actions a focus for Poe's ability. BB8 barrel shakes target locks with Black One title. PT allows some of this to work even while stressed.

I fly that exact Lone Wolf build, but after wave XI it will be Intensity + Primed Thrusters. No more counterintuitive formation flying!
