The Wookie ship will be just like all the most recent rebel ships. It will only be viable based on pilot abilities not the chassis or cost. Of the two pilots I believe the PS 5 may have a place in some lists but doubt it will be very widely used. Selflessness is the star of the pack. Making opponents split fire is a big advantage.
Wookie Gunship Preview!

This is not an iconic, beloved ship of ANYBODY'S. There are no Auzituck gunship fans. There never have been. There will be thanks to this, but this craft has not at all earned the place it is trying to take.
It apparently featured in an arc of the Vader comic, reaching 80k people in singles and an unknown number in book or download format. Which makes it relevant to a reasonable number of people who are currently engaged with Star Wars fiction beyond the films, as opposed to people who really liked the PC game they played two decades ago.
Like, if the Phantom gets in off the back of Rebel Assault then anything's fair game.
Lowhhrick with Rey and Jan Ors crew.
Biggs with R2D2.
Rest is up to you but those two together means Biggs will auto evade three damage a turn (reinforce plus evade token plus regen next turn) prior to rolling evade dice.
Not sure what else you team them with.
I really love that none of the upgrades are usable by Imperials! Screw those guys! But it is awful nice that the intensity upgrade from the TIE Aggressor is a huge buff to pilots like Jake Farrel- and usable by all factions. #FFGFairAndBalanced

Just because you don't play epic doesn't mean that Breach Specialist isn't good for Imperial epic.

The same with 000 and BT-1 now in imperial assault. I don't read comics but it is pretty clear Disney would like me, and everyone else for that matter, to read them. Sadly there is no more money to be had in TIE Fighter. I shall remember thee fondly.
Had a blast painting up 000 and BT-1. Don't know them at all though.

Whatever. I wasn't aware balance was skewed in Epic.
Forum scavenger hunt. Find a post by Johen Dood where he isn't whining about imperials.

Auzituck should be playable on vassal by tomorrow at latest it sounds like. Should be interesting to see how it plays.

Oh Mep. You are missing out. The Darth Vader series is phenomenal. And the whole thing is done, so you can find it in graphic novel form. Highly recommend.
@Punning Pundit Yeah yeah, they will probably get some more of my monies.

I'll second this. I wasn't expecting a lot from the comics when I borrowed them from my cousin, but wow, most of them really blew me away. 2-3 issues into the main title and I was thinking to myself "THIS is the Star Wars I have been looking for since Jedi left the theaters.

Its definitely not "OMG THAT IS AMAZING AUTOINCLUDE DAT SHIZ!" good but i wouldnt say its worthless. They might be putting too much value in reinforce, its amazing but its not worth like 5pts or something like that since it eats your action and can be dodged.
I find it funny that they mentioned Tactician when Rebels actually have the best stress-attacker as it is, Braylen. Its going to be pretty dang hard to dethrone that finkrat as the ultimate stress-mule.
Still waiting for that 18-22pt rebel ship that actually does something. Bigger issue with these mid 30s is you end up with just that many points lying around if you include 2 of them. Imps and Scum can easily fill those points with something that isnt broken but definitely capable of doing work, rebels not so much. Cheapest they can field i feel that actually DOES something is a decked out Greenwing (Awing) which is typically 26ish, JUST over the threshold to work with two mid30pts ships.

When do these release? I'd read late 2nd Qtr and that's now. Only 3 weeks till 3rd QTR

I would say early release at GenCon in August and full release some time in late September

Yup that's probably the most likely ^

Add one quarter to ffg estimates and you should be pretty close

Ha! Good plan. Thanks. Would be a nice trip to make to Gencon and maybe pick up a set of Wave 11 there!
Meh. Still won't be buying one.
I mean seriously, they couldn't do better than stealing the nose off an Mi-24 to make a Star Wars ship? And it's not like adding a new mechanic makes it that much more interesting than EVERY OTHER 1 agility Rebel ship.

You know, he has a point. Imperials are far behind in faction-restricted upgrades and the trend seems to be continuing.

How bout Kanan, just to annoy your opponent even more and reduce the number of attack dice XD

Aside from the actual ship design being vomit inducing I do think it is going to be quite powerful.
There is almost no reason to take a B-wing now, which is a shame as this ship out-performs it in every way. Much MUCH better dial + 180 arc + more defence for a comparable price.. incredible.
I am hoping there are not going to be some broken combos with this ship leading to its popularity as I would hate to see these ships flying around in tourneys.
Yuck
I'm finally finding time to read this thread and think about the article. I'm thinking there are some crazy stuff in here, but nothing that will be super broken. I am not really excited about this ship, but I also don't usually fly Rebels. When I do, I want to fly things like T-65's and Y-wings, so I'm not interested in weird ships.
I think it's possible that there could be some crazy combo someone can pull out with these cards, but besides that, I don't think it's going to be broken. The EPT is one time use, which really helps. Lowhhrick is a lot of points and requires using his action to give 1 other person an Evade action per turn. I think Tie Formations will have to break formation to defeat these things. Crackswarms will be able to get rid of that extra Reinforce token with Crackshot to kill one.
I think the real winner is Wulllfffarro. He's got a high PS with EPT which will be sitting pretty to use Expertise. He gets to use Reinforce. He's got the 2 crew there. He can take some Modifications. He rolls lots of dice. Forget all the Biggs and Selflessness and other stuff. Wullffarro will do a lot of damage and stick around in the fight.
@Cubanboy keeps asking me what I think of this ship for HotAC and I think it is WAAAY too powerful to be used in that. The Reinforce action makes this ship insanely powerful against all those Tie Fighters. It's too much.

They got Coordinate in standard format last wave. And nobody should sell Coordinate short.
