We're long past the point of ships needing to be iconic in order to be included in x wing. The gunship is nothing new in that regard.

And then in terms of its effect on the game itself, I think it's an interesting addition. It represents more of a lateral design space - it opens up new avenues of play without making them strictly better than alternatives. Like the S-Loop and T-Roll: they're certainly different from the K-Turn, but their existence doesn't negate the value of a K-turn. Just ask anyone who flies Tie S/Fs or Starvipers - Sometimes we really wish we could turn around on a straight line.

Incoming Biggs nerf. No way they let this stuff in without changing him.

26 pt. Biggs

rex

Jek w/Selflessness and R2-D2

Lowhhrick w/wookiees

You're essentially sharing damage between two ships while reducing their red dice by 1 and giving Biggs a free evade.

Also can you activate selflessness after r4-d6? Yikes.

Seems that FFG is pushing throght splash damages. There were a lot of helps for that, and even the new scum pack still have 2 new splash missiles.

Probably gonna make our moustached pilot once per round then.

Or until he takes damage each round. ( though perhaps a bit harder to word )

Well things I am lease excited for, the gunship. Reinforce seems good but my experience in Epic tells me that TLTs are going to rip this thing apart.

Most Excited for, It is funny to say this but Wookie Commandos. I mean there is no way you are going to see them in Standard. But as for Epic, these guys will work better tha Jabba. Kind of funny as Jabba has some use in standard, these guys are obsolete by the likes of Expertise Kyle Katan, and all the other ways Rebels like to pass and share focus tokens (although Scum had won the focus monopoly with Atanni mindlink). But now put them on the CR-90 and given the fact that huge ships need all the help with focus results they can get. And now you are talking some serious dice modification power. The CR-90 just might be able to out gun the raider with these Bad Hairy Boys on it.

I...

I really hate this ship.

It does not deserve to fly with X-Wings, ARC-170s, or even TIE Aggressors. It has appeared in one episode of Rebels, it has never even fired a shot, we have never even seen IT FLY.

This is not an iconic, beloved ship of ANYBODY'S. There are no Auzituck gunship fans. There never have been. There will be thanks to this, but this craft has not at all earned the place it is trying to take.

Not only that, but the model and paintjob looks awful. I could hardly tell whether or not those forward guns were pipes or guns. I still don't even really know! And what justifies its three attack and 180 arc? You know what this thing is?

It's a poor man's LAAT/i.

At the risk of beating the horse a bit further, how the hell did this get the green light ahead of the Assault Gunboat. As you say, this appears in one episode of a show. The other was a stable of numerous PC Games. The games that actually inspired the Miniatures Game.

I like the ship and think it's good.

I'd even put Wookie Commandos on Tantive IV.

Well for one thing, it's a completely different t faction from the gunboat. It's not like they had a choice between this or the gunboat and said"screw those guys".

Thank you, FFG, for another entry confirming that my gaming budget can comfortably go to Armada and Mansions of Madness for a while without any consideration of what my X-wing collection may be missing. Apparently, for the time being, if you don't play Scum, there's not really much of anything coming out of much interest.

Given how many ships from it keep appearing in the game, I'd say the developers played way more Star Wars Galaxies than X-Wing. Star Wars: X-Wing The Miniatures Game is way better marketing though.

I like everything about it except that it looks like the food truck from 5th element. Which might otherwise be awesome, but wookiees don't wear hair nets. Ill pass on the hairy taco express delivery service.

Repaint idea right there. We have already some G1As painted as Korben's taxi

Because WOOKIEES.

Because the Gunboat isn't a TIE.

It seems pretty evident that, up to this point at least, FFG has wanted all Imperial small based ships to be some variation of a TIE series. A decision I heartily approve of. Now, they might change that policy at some point, and I would be shocked if the Gunboat isn't the very first non-TIE Imperial small-based ship, but up to this point it seems almost certain that that is what has kept it out. And considering that it is a boring, lame design that looks nothing at all like an imperial ship, the longer it stays out, the better.

It looks like a babbu Lambda with missile pods.

What splash? Assault missiles aren't used much because swarms are still not a thing (and haven't been since Wave 4). Arc Casters have more of a chance of damaging your self than ruthlessness.

As far as Gunship I see is trying to use Epic as a way of opening up design space. Now unfortunately for the gunship they are so worried about the epic mechanic that they have overpriced it. So which is why I call it the Rebel Defender. It can't turn, has high attack value and can sustain a lot of damage but since it can't position itself very well it will be one of the weakest ships until an alternate expansion pack with a title or something comes out and brings it up to speed.

This. If the Gunboat doesn't look Imperial, neither does the Lambda Shuttle.

Bingo. It's asinine.

Never understood the correlation between the X-Wing games and the miniatures game? They're both just called X-Wing, that's literally it dude.

I am actually saying that ffg seems to push people to run splash damages lists by boosting Biggs. Rebels now have a lot of tools for him.

Because with this wave, direct damage Biggs will be hard.

Splash Damage, Bombs, Tractor Tokens etc.

I guess when FFG nerfs Biggs it will happen after the release of the Gunship ;)

Even in the video games, no one actually liked the assault gunboat.

The Quadjumper says hello. We at least get a decent look at the Auzitick, and see it fly off. The only thing I remember the Quadjumper doing is blowing up. I didn't even know what the thing really looked like until it showed up in X-Wing.

I didn't like the Quadjumper either, but at least its design was interesting.

(Also, it means Scum aren't locked out of Tech upgrades )

To go back to the Auzituck: what are your ideas for it?

I want to keep it cheap to go with two >33pt rebels, or load it up to the infamous and overly occupied 41-43pt spot that features so many rebel ships.

Lowhhrick needs range 1, so I'd build him with selflessness, and maybe inspiring recruit + breach specialist as crew for a total of 31pt. The thought is that whatever flies with him will stay close, so might as well try and increase the benefit. Operation specialist would be another idea.
Maybe fly him with Jess Pava+R2D6+Swarmleader? That leaves 40 points, so 2 snapcrackle A-Wings would fit, allowing Jess to reroll three dice.

On Wullffwarroo: to start with a tangent, I don't understand his pricing. He is 1 more point than Norra. The difference is more white vs the Kturn+rear arc, with more or less equal upgrades and actions (well apparently not...). But anyway, I don't get him, at all. He will be expensive... Finn and Lonewolf? Hull upgrade so you can longer benefit from the extra attack? I'd expect that reinforce will be the most frequent action, which makes VT useless. R2-D2 crew works against the pilot ability. C3PO maybe? Rey and load him up? I don't see that much use for focus on a 1 agi ship though.

I don't dislike the ship, and more Wookies is good. But I just don't get this ship tbh.
