Ozzel Strikes back!!

By Sharego, in Star Wars: Armada Fleet Builds

Hi all!

What do you think about this list?

Faction: Galactic Empire
Points: 392/400

Commander: Admiral Ozzel

Assault Objective: Most Wanted
Defense Objective: Hyperspace Assault
Navigation Objective: Intel Sweep

Imperial II-Class Star Destroyer (120 points)
- Gunnery Team ( 7 points)
- Quad Laser Turrets ( 5 points)
- Electronic Countermeasures ( 7 points)
- H9 Turbolasers ( 8 points)
- Leading Shots ( 4 points)
= 151 total ship cost

Gozanti-class Cruisers (23 points)
= 23 total ship cost

Gozanti-class Cruisers (23 points)
= 23 total ship cost

[ flagship ] Gozanti-class Cruisers (23 points)
- Admiral Ozzel ( 20 points)
= 43 total ship cost

Victory II-Class Star Destroyer (85 points)
- Warlord ( 8 points)
- Agent Kallus ( 3 points)
- Gunnery Team ( 7 points)
- Quad Laser Turrets ( 5 points)
- H9 Turbolasers ( 8 points)
- Leading Shots ( 4 points)
= 120 total ship cost

4 TIE Fighter Squadrons ( 32 points)

The idea is kill flotillas, one per shoot and counter the bombers I think I need more fighters but I don't know what change in the list

In my opinion just drop the Idea of having five activation's and invest in a serious fighter screen with Howlrunner and some other good anti-fighter ace and many standard Tie-fighters/interceptors. Spend turn two and three with commanding the fighters and then just blast on their ships as much as you can. These big ships do damage without concentrating fire. I would likely give them speed two with Repair, Squad, Squad and then add either Maneuver or Repair after first round depending on their positioning and what the opponent do in their first turn and what fleet they have.

If you must have a Gozanti give it a repair crew so it can support those two big ships and just fly it behind the big ships.

I also think Jerrerod is a better fit for what you are trying to do. That Victory have no use for Ozzel what so ever as one example. Ozzel fits much better in a light cruiser and raider oriented list.

I think the part about Ozzel not benefitting victories is something you should take to heart. You would be far better off with 2 trim Intel officer/Dual Turbolaser Turret Arquitens or a well equipped Gladiator demolisher and extra squads than with the victory. If you want to bring Warlord, look towards Motti, and never leave home without Tua and ECMS to protect that big, slow, easy to flank investment of points.

I love Ozzel ( he is the admiral I play most) but there is no point in playing him in a vic list.....
