Browsing Barnes & Noble yesterday I happen to see Destiny starter packs available which was a first for me - 2 Rey and 3 Kylo. They have definitely been reprinting starters and will continue to do so for the rest of the year based on demand. Unfortunate that it seems the Awalenings reprint is extremely low.
I understand putting the starters into circulation at a general retailer but without a single booster pack available I fail to see how they can really attract casual gamers this way. The starters don't provide a full game experience and the booster sets are limited print runs. I don't think you can attract casual gamers by selling half a game via starters with no available boosters for the full experience. While it seems there is enough SOR product available now at game stores and online, I don't see this holding over for months until the next set and I don't see B&N securing enough booster product to make any difference. Seems those starters would be better distributed to flgs'. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to have the option of picking up a few boosters on any given day at B&N but will availability ever really be there based what we've seen thus far?
