9 Activation List Review

By player2450481, in Imperial Assault Skirmish

Hello everyone,

I have been playing with a list that has 9 activations. I was wondering if it's too much support with not enough firepower to be effective. As always, any feedback is greatly appreciated and will help me out.

Activation Cards:

Onar Koma 6

BT-1 6

C1-10P 3

R2-D2 3

EJawa 3

Vinto 5

C-3P0 2

Bossk 8

Gideon 3

Temp Alliance 1

Looks like a fun list. If you want a little more firepower, you could try an eWeequay instead of Bossk. Then take your saved point and add Hera instead of either Chopper or R2.

Personally I always try for at least 7 attacks so you're a bit short there, you've got 5 decent attacks in the list dropping to 3 once vinto dies.

As a fun list I'm sure you'll do OK mate and this game is great in that if you know a list you can do well in most settings, however personally is not something I'd run in a competitive event.

How have you gotten on with it so far and what sort of lists have you played? How competitive are your friends and is this something you'd want to take to an event or just to play with mates?

That a good idea, definitely a lot of different variations to think about. Which actually made me think of getting rid of Onar Koma for eWeequays and getting rid of Vinto for Greedo. I'm for sure if that's a good trade though?

Currently, I play against one other person and he runs Obi Wan, Jedi Luke, Elite Echo Base Troopers, Lando, Gideon, C-3P0. I'm having a really hard time beating him; because I never know who to shoot first. Are there any good counters for this list? I've just been experimenting with different figures trying to figure out who can counter Jedi Luke and Obi.

Addressing the competitiveness, we both want to go to worlds; so, it's very competitive.

On defense: High HP figures who don't rely on defense (Bantha, Onar).
On offense: Lots of red die (eGams, IG-88, Onar, BT-1, and the list grows once you weaken him).

Greedo is a lot of fun to play, and he causes some dilemmas for your opponents. just generally looking at the lineup, I personally think bringing both R2 and chopper both is sort of redundant. They're both going to be sitting on a terminal. Between a 3 cost astromech and bossk, you could add probably 3 figures with solid attacks with that 11 points. weequays/greedo or weequays/Hera both are pretty good.

If you're thinking about getting rid of Onar and an astromech, you could have 9 points to play with, and get Hera/greedo and an upgrade like black market.

This basically, eGams are a great counter and one of my favourite units.

I'd also add eWeeq with their ability to force a re roll in that white dice and use some of the really swingy hunter cards to burn jedi luke down sticky.

Further than that is difficult to say, how is the opponent using luke? I find half the time people are too aggressive with him early on and I can burn him down pretty easily, those who hold back probably get more value but then you struggle to make the most of a 12 pt model.

Always remember the mission and have a plan of how your list wins the game. I prefer not to use big figures like jLuke or Iggy as they can win or just add easily lose you the game on a couple of bad rolls, they're not as consistent in my experience which you need in top lists.

Some this advice on here already though so have a read and get playing some more mate, most importantly get back to us and let us know how you get on so we can all learn from it!

I really love Greedo, but I wouldn't swap Vinto for him in your list. You'd be getting really light on attacks I think..

Sorry for the late response: super busy week for me! I haven't been able to play my activation list recently; however, I did get the chance to revise the list. Before I list the new changes I wanted to thank everyone for the great advice!

New List:

Onar Koma

Gamorrean Guard

Chopper

Bossk

EJawa

BT-1

C-3P0

Gideon

Temp Alliance

Once again, thanks for the feedback, and look forward to what you guys think of the new list.

So now it's an 8 activation list :P

Seems like a good/fun spread.
