Best 33 pt Rebels can buy?

By Mackaywarrior, in X-Wing Squad Lists

Been having fun flying my list but Wedge just is not Wedging right. Looking for a good 33 pt build. RIght now I am using Wedge with BB8, swarm tactics, IA. Swarm tactics to make Biggs a PS 9 is fun lol

33pts is Jake with Proton Rockets, VI &PTL. So much fun with that little A-wing!

You left out Autothrusters.

I think that card is stapled to him already!

i have fun flying these two (not together, in different lists)

Warden Squadron Pilot - Extra Munitions, Cluster Mines, Advanced SLAM, Sabine Wren - 33
• Tycho Celchu- A-Wing Test Pilot, Chardaan Refit, Rage, Autothrusters, P ush the Limit - 30
Warden normally nets an ace per match (at least) with his clusters. Tycho is just fun shenanigans if flown well.

Heragator mini could work:

Hera Syndulla (32)
TLT
Navigator
Veteran Instincts

Absurdly hard to pin down, with consistent damage to boot. Whether she's the best choice will depend greatly on the rest of you list and whether they can counter Fenn with an initiative bid.

Depending on the list, a beefed up B-wing could be nice.

Nera Dantels - Lightning Reflexes/Deadeye/VI, Extra Munitions, Flechette Torpedoes, Guidance chips.

Thanks for the basically free MoV.

MoV?

Depending on the rest of the 67 points:

Warden w/ Sabine, EM, Seismics, Clusters, LRS (missing AdvSL though)

Jake w/ VI, PTL, Prockets, AT, ATP

Norra w/ PTL, R2 Astro

Snap w/ R2 Astro, Outmaneuver (or PTL if you want to be boring), PT, IA

And I'm sure there are plenty of others out there that would work too.

Margin of Victory. A B-wing is an easy kill, so it's an easy choice for an opponent to target one and score some easy points. In all the games I've played against Nera Dantels (and there have been many) I've only seen her ability trigger once, and then only because I let it happen to set up something better. Usually I just kill her before she fires any torpedoes.

  • Craken, VI, Tracers, 21
  • Bandit, 12

Is this for one of those free-for-alls where you get one 33 pt ship? Or is it part of a 100 point list and you have 33 left over?

Ah, thought that is what you meant, but wanted to be sure. I've had marginal success with her against defenders. The 360 gives you a few shots and can be a distraction.

Is it the best 33 point option? Probably not. But it's something.

I think I'd take Tycho with A Wing Test, Chardaan Refit, PTL, Hull Upgrade, Daredevil. Tough to get a whole lot more maneuverable than that!

Replace HU with EI and you have (procketless) Psycho Tycho. Sadly without the prockets he's a PITA to pin down, but doesn't really do much in terms of damage. And against turrets or PS9+ he's next to useless.

Easy - Jake with PTL, VI, Prockets, Title and Autothrusters although intensity may be viable as a replacement for PTL when it comes out. I'm not so sure though

I sincerely hope so. Stress-free Jake could lay off the 2-turn.

This is completely based on the rest of the list. Does it need to fill the Wedge style roll or can it be a stress hog or a two tie fighters or any other of a plethora of things.

Considering that 3 attack dice won't do any damage ever to anything that matters (exaggeration, maybe), Munitions failsafe is way better than guidance chips. That way you get infinite out of arc shots, and you can swap out extra munitions for fire control system.

Good call. I'd go with Deadeye then if I can't get an auto-TL from FCS.

Definitely. If you have an extra point it can be effective to go with Accuracy corrector instead. You cancel your flechette torpedo dice results, but don't add the two hits, so you get infinite flechettes for 5 points.

Part of a list and seeing what people think for later ideas

Porkins (26)
PtL (3)
R3-A2 (2)
VT (2) = 33pts

This build could suicide Porkins in one round. Execute a Red Maneuver, trigger Porkins. PtL, trigger Porkins. R3-A2, trigger porkins. If Porkins is dealt a third damage card after "Declare Target" because of R3-A2, then I would argue he should be destroyed before completing his attack. As we all know, Porkins cannot "hold it."

See, this is the fact I love flying Porkins. Yeah, he'll probably die on a couple of turns (or 1!) but fly for the fun of it. Rebels rarely excel at lower points so fly this guy and wait patiently for that one game where he actions to exhaustion, has no stress, no damage and rolls 3-4 damage for a couple of turns, killing your precious Emperor in his smelly shuttle.*
