You cant simply "target" the aft section of the ship, since both halves count as "the ship" when determining range/LOS which is still done closest point to closest point.

Errr... Actually, YES, you can.

That's precisely why the blue line is there, to determine if you are allowed to attack the section you targeted/chose.

Not much epic play, huh?

The CROC front/rear thing is kinda...lame....but not the end of the world since its almost a 180 arc anyway. You cant simply "target" the aft section of the ship, since both halves count as "the ship" when determining range/LOS which is still done closest point to closest point. Thats literally a very specific sweetspot where on any other huge ship would hit the front, but on the croc it hits the aft. And for the most part i wouldnt want to be in that sweetspot as i risk getting squashed.

That's not how targeting a huge ship works, even the ones like the Gozanti and C-ROC which have only one ship card. You ALWAYS choose a section to target when targeting a huge ship. You determine whether or not you can target said section if the LOS from your base to the SECTION's peg is obstructed by the blue line. There is a huge area on either side of the ship where it is possible to target either section, and a smart player will simply target the section that is not being Reinforced. For the C-ROC, that region is simply pushed closer toward the fore.

Huge Ship Rules pg. 2:

Quote

To target a huge ship, choose a section (either fore or aft) of a huge ship that the attacking ship can target normally. Then, measure a line from the exact center of the attacking ship’s base to the exact center of the base for the chosen section of the huge ship. If this line is not obstructed by the blue center line on the huge ship’s ship token, the attacker can declare the chosen section as his target.
