New Cards you'd like to see for Blue Heroes

By Virtigo, in Star Wars: Destiny

Themes: Sacrifice dice for an alternate effect.

Defensive and sacrificial in nature.

Basically, alternative methods rather than brute force to achieve a win condition.

Better cards ;)

I don't think blue is the weekpoint for heroes right now.

Guard and Destiny are pretty good at accomplishing this as it is, in my opinion. As are Patience, Noble Sacrifice, etc.

Ok, I guess I need to be more specific. New cards, you'd like to see for Blue Heroes :D

The new ones are very scene-specific for me, because I enjoy thinking of other various Force abilities (like Force Speed, Force Throw, Force Push, etc.)... I'd like to see Force-Guided Arrows from the scene in the Dark Times comic where Master K'Kruhk uses the Force to very precisely guide bow and arrows, for example, and maybe the odd type of Force-healing that Cade Skywalker discovers. Probably, in line with the theme of your thread, I'd like to see a true Jedi Mind Trick (different from the existing event Mind Trick, but a powerful upgrade ability). Maybe also an event called These Are Not the Droids you Are Looking For! And some more classic Obi Wan quotes. Maybe a card very similar to He Doesn't Like You with the name "Who Is More Foolish?" and the flavor text "The Fool or the Fool Who Follows Him..."

Ahsoka

-End of Line

Kyle Katarn:

"After you roll this die into your pool, your opponent may point out that an abysmal excuse for a war story with the verisimilitude of being part of the Star Wars franchise wholly and complete obviates Kyle's existence. Then remove this character from the game, your memory, and cry yourself to sleep at night."

Lie down, try not to cry, cry a lot....

Warning: post contains spoilers for Star Wars Legacy (if you care)

Well, I can't fully agree with all of the sentiment, because I don't play nearly enough video games, so I don't know much about Katarn, and I actually really liked Rogue One, but I definitely know the feeling. I for one feel really annoyed that Dass Jennir will never exist in this game, or any future Disney thing, for that matter. And I know that it's a strange choice, but I really would like A'Sharaad Hett (did I spell that right?), as a original trilogy-era bounty hunter. He could be either yellow or blue villain, since he grows up to become Darth Krayt.

So, yeah, Dass Jennir gets added to the list of awesome blue heroes we'll never see. I'll still be excited to see what Kanan Jarrus does though. Hopefully pretty similar.

OMG, where to start. Jedi Holocron is a dream of mine. And yes they do exist in cannon.

Indeed!

Jedi holocron would be cool for a point, 4 focus sides, one resource side, and a blank for 1 cost.

Young Obi-Wan. His ability should have to do with either controlling the battlefield or denying unblockable damage.

Blue heroes could use better melee characters to pair with like a new Red Wookie Warrior or uh, ...Ewoks?

More Lightsaber Form stuff. Like, I am sad that my Qui Gon, the Ataru guy besides Yoda, deck currently runs Makashi training. I also want Luke to have Shien/Djem So for head Canon reasons :)

Oh, and more Jedi. Like Mace and the rest of the council.

Mace Windu at Palpatine level would be cool.

What about if Young Obi-Wan had an ability like, "While this character has 1 or more shields, you are considered as having control of the battlefield."

Old Luke and his battle field. No blanks on Luke.

How about a card that lets you tap an upgrade on a character before they roll in so they can't use it that turn.

Luke's meditating rock would be cool as a support. 3 cost to give it 2 focus, 2 shields, 2 resources, +2 melee, and 2 ability sides. Ability says if you control the battle field, heal 2 damage from a character.

How about this?

Character: Yoda - Blue Hero

Cost:10 (no elite die)

Health 10

Sides: 1 Resource, 2 Resource, 2 Discard, 2 Discard, 2 manipulate, 2 manipulate

Ability: While this character is in play, opponents may not remove Blue character or ability dice from your dice pool.

The idea behind this character is giving Blue a counter to die control decks and also a consistent source of mill and dice manipulation. I gave it only one die and no damage sides both as thematic for the true Yoda (Original Trilogy) and balance - as with two dice this character would be OP.

Have quite a few:

Anakin Skywalker (before turn to the dark side), Prequel Yoda to balance Palp, Mace Windu, Ahsoka, Kanaan Jarrus, Ezra Bridger, maybe an early trilogy Luke ranged damage and maybe just a one melee. Also maybe force ghost support characters.

An idea I had is for a Darth Vader is that you could include both hero and villain cards in the deck. You either choose to play him as a hero or a villain but, if you choose to play him as a villain you must pay an extra resource to play any hero cards and vice versa. Kinda using the "conflict" theme in RotJ.

I like the idea a lot - I'm thinking of stealing something like this for a custom card. I still think it's a little too powerful with eLuke, honestly. With no way to mitigate Luke or Makashi training, that could be a ton of unpreventable damage per turn. There's also no way to stop it without killing Yoda, so I don't think an elite version would be any more overpowered. I'd say elite is fine.

I did make a custom prequel-inspired Yoda a while back, but I agree that Yoda is more fun as a support-type character like Maz, so I did give him the ability to train other characters and give them Force abilities:

He needs a health of 12 no argument. switch the blank with a focus side.

Yeah he is a little weak. Compare with rey.
