Vassal X-Wing 7.0.5 is available now

Bugs squashed:

  • Overlap detection was disabled for a fair number of ships (ie Protectorate Starfighter, StarViper) due to a unseen side effect of a bug squash done in the last version 7.0.3. Ships are now “repaired” in that regard.
  • Overlap detection now works with flipped obstacle tokens (they are flipped by using their CTRL-S shortcut); it would try to detect only the unflipped silhouette before during an overlap event, despite the state of the graphic on the map.

Can the condition card tokens be added to the autospawn? I'm playing Captain Rex in the TIE, and I get the Suppressive Fire card, but no token. I didn't even realize the token was in Vassal and had been using a Weapons Disabled token instead before.

Find I cant do any maneuvers in .05. Had to roll back.

Just right click on the condition card itself. You can spawn some (it's CTRL-T).

You're the 3rd person to report something about movement, but none have reported a way to reproduce the bug.

I did upload the module from my work computer, from where I don't usually upload my modules. I'll have to check things out with this in mind.

Had a fellow play against me with the same problem. only fix we found was to roll back. We both tried reloaded the .05 to make sure it wasn't a corrupt file etc.

Make that two guys.

When 7.0.3 was released, a few German players reported a problem with movements related to the SHIFT-keys - they couldn't do them, even though their opponents could manipulate both players' ships just fine.

When they went into the launcher window's file/preferences and switched the language of Vassal to English, everything worked again. Though I'm not 100% sure this is the full story, because I did not get clear crystal clear accounts on what didn't work.

Hmm. US here and all in English. Guy I am playing now is in Mexico and it seems that shift is the problem.

I was Croaker's first opponent. Was unable to use both hotkeys and the drop down menu. Like he said, the solution was to roll back and that worked just fine.

I found the solution:

the bug will trigger if a 7.0.5 player moves any ship with any move, while there are rocks/debris/cargo/container tokens that have been spawned before 7.0.5.

I'll create a fail-safe starting with the next version, but in the mean time, usher people to migrate to 7.0.5. That's the solution - if both players use 7.0.5, the bug won't happen.

Two things - firstly thank you - vassal is amazing - secondly, I am having the same issue with movement

I had this problem. I think my opponent was probably on an earlier version, I'm rolling back to 7.03 until there's a fix, it's too difficult to operate .05 until then, and there aren't any card in .05 that I expect to use.

A quick bug avoidance trick is to let the 7.0.5 player spawn all the obstacles.
