There are 2 versions of cybernetic limbs according to the CRB, cheaper basic ones that don't buff stats, and expensive ones that increase a stat by +1. I have a PC that just lost his arm and wants to get it replaced with a 10k cybernetic arm that costs 10k.
Since the group is based on Nal Hutta, they are not in a Core planet region so I figured the rarity of this may be higher than 10k. I also wondered how other GM's had it attached...did the PC go to the hospital to have it done or was it a "wave the hand" situation? Did it cost anything additionally for the procedure? Did you require a roll from the person attaching it, if so, did failure mean the body rejects the implant?
My group doesn't have much money, they have been pretty broke for awhile now because they are all Force Sensitive and have means of transportation and a mentor that provides them with training and living facilities when at home.
I was debating on using 2 options for the PC to get a new arm...his mentor will provide 2k to cover the cost of a normal arm (not the procedure cost though, or by using obligation to reflect the cost of the arm & procedure as being covered by a Hutt they have been in contact with before...He would cover the cost of everything and the PC or group gains 1 obligation per $1k loaned. That way he can call on them to do him "favors" until it's fully repaid seeing as they don't have that kind of money. That way he can make a moral decision, does he take the cheap way and get a normal arm or does he obtain obligation to get a special arm and therefore be in debt to a Hutt?
