Dropping a bomb in any way uses one up as normal.

How could you even drop a bomb if the card is discarded !?! There is no generic bomb in this game and no where does it say it do not discard the bomb....

Deathfire doesn't say "drop a bomb" on his card. He says "perform a <bomb> upgrade card action as a free action". Precedent from other cards like Experimental Interface and simple common sense says that you can't perform an action from an upgrade card if you don't have that upgrade card equipped anymore. Therefore, Deathfire can only use his ability until he runs out of equipped <bomb> upgrade cards. He absolutely does not get infinite bombs.
