Hey all,

I have created a simple program to use along side AH which allows players to model the fiddly character sheets and tokens. It also allows the player to choose location events at random from the computer.

At the moment the basic 16 characters are usable and the locations from the original Arkham (as I only own the original and none of the expansions) but I am hoping to expand it if there is enough interest.

I am waiting to hear from somebody in FF to see if I am able to post it as it uses their materials (character sheets, cards etc). I have a simple site ready to go live when I am given the word.

I am looking forward to hearing from people who have used the program and think about what other features would be good to develop. I am aiming to allow user generated location events, characters and items to be used and share too, which I think would be quite interesting.

So, does anybody from Fantasy Flight want to contact me about it?

Thanks for all the feedback so far. As deitch suggested AHC does require .net v2 to run, something that I forgot to mention.

I am investigating the use of rich text to format the card text to show which skills check is required etc. I am also beginning to look at the design for inputting user generated 'sets' of events, so if anybody has any they would be willing to share then let me know. If anybody wants to join in the project let me know too.

Good luck with the project, something like this would be of great use especially if you are able to eventually include content from the base game and all the expansions and give the ability to mix/edit decks. Surprised no one from FFG has commented, especially since there was someone last year (?) who created something similar and was told not to make it public due to copyright infringement. I believe FFG also hinted at the time they were considering creating something in house, but I can't see that happening for various reasons. Anyway, I guess the responsibility is theirs to say something if they aren't keen on the idea.

Looking forward to testing out your work so far, when I get chance, will let you know how it goes.

I gathered as much would happen eventually, so I am planning on making changes to the program to allow user generated content. I found the strange eons program the other day and was impressed. So, I am investigating the possibility of combining the two. E.g. using the strange eons program to create content to be exported into AHC. It is early days at the moment, but it would be great to be able to do.

oh my god this is wonderful my wife and I play and own every exspansion but with a 2 year old you know how hard it is to set it up and keep her out of it. this is great would love to see it with all exspansion access if there is anything i can do to help let me know.

thank you, I know your pain! lol. Arkham is a wonderful games, but the tokens and cards can make it a pig to play.

I am looking at developing the user generated content at the moment, so I don't think that I will be able to the expansions any time soon. But, if I create a system where users can input their own then you could do it yourself and share it with the community.

UPDATE

I am updating AHC and am including the option to allow fans to create their own set of event cards. At the moment I am looking for submissions if anybody has any. I am only looking for events from the basic set of locations at the moment, but if I get to play with any expansions I will try to work them in.

Does anybody fancy sending some to me??

I hate to break it to you, but you're probably going to get shut down (based on what they did previously— why do you think they'd've changed their policy in the last year?)

basically, I am changing the format of the cards so they appear in the Arkham typewriter font. I am also in the process of changing the system to allow users to type in their own events,

so, if you have any sumissions I could use as test data that would be excellent!

I am a college lecturer during the day, so I'm not going to make great headway with it until the summer.

I only need card text that isn't copyright. I haven't received official word from FFG, but I am expecting them to say that their card text is not to be used in AHC. So, I am making it so everybody can input their own creations.

I had looked into Strange Eons and am wondering how possible it would be to export from that into AHC. Does anybody here work on Strange Eons. I'd love to make contact with the programmers to discuss the possible cross overs.

sorry Avi_Dreader, it's not Mac compatible..yet, but if anybody wants to join in development and create it for the Mac I'd be more than happy to share source code.
