It would be the odds of rolling a hit, crit or focus (6/8) to the 40th power = .00100565%

Which is approximately 99437 to ONE!

I have the record for the most consecutive blanks rolled on greens in back to back defense attempts in our group; my best was 15.....or worse actually. ☹️

Ah, mathematics is a peculiar thing, indeed. Should you ever find yourself on the very verge of making that 40th awful throw, remember! At this point, the chances of that unfortunate throw will by the very same as if it was to be your very first throw, 2 out of 8 or 1 in 4, that is. As far as highly unlikely it is to make 40 of these self-devastating throws in a row, there is nothing out of ordinary of making the 40th blank throw in a row.
