I was playing a Poe/eFinn vehicle deck and i was wondering if C-3PO is able to (ab)use Poe's die special. Seem a pretty strong combo in this deck, ihmo.
Could C-3PO resolve a die as if it was showing a special?
Yes, he can.
The only limit to C3PO's ability is that he must follow the usual "resolving die" rules: cant resolve modifiers, must pay if there's a resource cost. Remember that this rules apply to the original face showing, since C3PO change only the symbol, nothing more.
C-3P0 can resolve Poe's blank like a special, which is probably the most useful application here!

Could it? I doubt, blank is not a symbol and cannot be resolved...
DICE SYMBOLS (p9):
MELEE DAMAGE
RANGED DAMAGE
SHIELD
RESOURCE
DISRUPT
DISCARD
FOCUS
SPECIAL
BLANK
C-3PO can take anything on that list and replace it with another thing on that list.
Klark: I think you haven't quite remembered it right.
Page 9: "Blank symbols have no effect and cannot be resolved. Blanks have a value of 0 that cannot be increased or decreased."
Edited by AmanalC-3PO can change any dice to a special:
C-3PO (30)

C-3PO does not allow you to resolve the die without paying its resource cost, nor does he allow you to ignore modifiers.
-
C-3PO can turn other dice into specials, at which point the value of the die does change to 0.
So Amanal's ruling is completely correct.
In the rules reference, it also says specials have a value of zero.

Wait, so if I roll a +2 Gun I can't C-3P0 to a 2 Gun? Like the plus is a seperate entity from the symbol and stuck on there? So does that also mean you can't change a +Whatever to a special and resolve it? That definitely throws a wrench in his usefulness if I'm understanding correctly.
Still good, just less so.
3P0 wouldn't be good in a deck that has a lot of modifiers. Something that has a lot of specials and blanks, he is ummm, Golden...

"as it were showing a different symbol" - you are not resolving blank anymore is you use 3po.
Thanks to all for your contributions. You were really helpful!
