No secret magic needed. It has agi2, 4+5 hp and wants to get shot at.

Anything that can one-shot a Headhunter can kick in all the shields in one turn. Any pair of ships with 3 primary can do the same and worse. Also TLT does the trick but slower.

Expertise plus K4 is 7 points, plus EPT and crew slots. That seems like a fair price for the effect you're getting, and is definitely starting to move your list towards "all eggs in one basket" territory.

Stress from Debris happens after Check Pilot Stress so you cannot avoid it even with a green maneuver. You'll get your K4 TL but Expertise will be blocked. Kanan crew is the only way to avoid that stress.

If you were to blanket change all the "assign" abilities to "perform a free action", it might be a good idea to look at pilots or abilities that let you "acquire a target lock" as well. I believe that if Col. Vessery is stressed he can still "acquire" a target lock right?

Yes, he can. With the proposed change, he wouldn't be able to.

maybe, but K4 doesn't assign anything, it acquires a target lock.
