PBP for Force and Rebellion

By Matt Skywalker, in Star Wars: Force and Destiny RPG

I would appreciate it if someone would GM a PBP. I am asking because I looked for some and can't find any. I can play any but EotE

Would you be able to outline some of the elements of the game your looking for please?

a single PC game or group?

is this a game to help learning the system or is it to scratch your RPG itch between sessions?

It is for an RPG itch, as you put it. I was thinking multiple people though just me is fine. And really I don't care what kind of adventure as long as there is decent amounts of combat

I would also like to sign up for a game. Several games that I was a participant in died recently, and the remaining two are on hiatus. I estimate that I should be almost fully available after this Wednesday.

Don't care about the details, really.

All we need now is a gm. If anyone is willing.

I've been trying to put together a PBP game (with rotating GMs) and need more players/GMs for it. You can find out more about it here.

I love this site, and I won't diminish its ability to host PbP in any means. If you can find a GM here, do it! But if you can't, there are alternatives.

I use roleplayinggames.net for my PbP itch (it's almost the only way I play). I GM an AoR game and play in another AoR game and an EotE game.

I've also heard things about https://www.rpol.net/ but I've never used it and can't speak to its quality.

I do have an idea for a game, based around being Pit Fighers on Nar Shaddaa owned by or working for a Hutt. The team (probably 4) battle for dominance in the arena, but have freedom to move through the city to deal with their own problems as well.

So does that mean you are willing to be a GM

I would like that. However, I find slavery abhorrent, so would like for that to not be too prominent.

What do you think of a brawler who puts themselves on fire for the show?

Probably! It could be a little rough if we start in the next few days, will probably take a few weeks to get a good flow going.

4 PC's. Knight Level (+150xp and a Lightsaber or 9000cr AFTER completing normal character creation) . Any species, any line. Any Career, any book (I have almost all of them). No house rules. Set during the reign of the Emperor before all that Luke Skywalker stuff happens.

Motivations are important, don't skip that step of character creation. Trying to link PC's together would be advisable too, you will all have known each other for some time and I find "getting to know you" can be challenging in a PBP.

Everyone starts with 10 Obligation which must link them to Zero the Hutt (my own cannon so things could change from what's established) and give a solid reason for being in his retinue of Gladiators on Nar Shaddaa. Owned or owing Zero something, working or other, I don't mind.

Force Users will have a Morality. They may choose to change their Obligation or their Morality for a benefit at character creation but not both. Dark Side PC's are welcome... even encouraged for the Violence factor likely in the game.

I encourage having an ability beyond combat too, since fighting in the pit won't be the only thing happening in the game.

All Crafting and Modifications rolls must be performed using orokos.com, as will all rolls in game. I'll post an IC and OOC some time in the next day or so "Star Wars: In The Pits" will be its name.

Questions? Ask away.

How does your plan involve surviving?

Fire-proof sealed clothing that is covered in something flammable.

And other than being seriously intimidating, what else do you think would happen?

Time to revisit building and playing a Zabrak Agressor I'll take Shii Cho as well.

Mechanically? Probably have some additional ways to spend Advantages, depending on situation. Could probably also increase popularity with the viewers. Could probably also dissuade people from grappling the character.

The thing itself could probably be represented as a crafted weapon. In that case I would also like to raise a question: would I be able to spend Advantages on the crafting check to give it the Burn quality (with fixed damage, as opposed to being based on the brawl damage; now that I think of it, Blast is probably a better representation of attacking enemies in this way).

I would totally be up for this. I need to spend some time on the other side of the (GM) screen.

I'll think it over, blast does seem good, but so does burn. Burn is especially good if you're brawling or grappling. Threat from an enemy attack could be given another way to spend it too

Where would we post the character sheets when we are done?

Here is fine for now.

What format do you want character sheets to be posted?

Use swsheets.com please, it's the simplest for phone use.

Alright. Going to have to play around with it a bit to get used to it. Thanks!

I'll be bringing in a Selonian Martial Artist. Working with the stats now.
