Strikers with target locks

By Droidlover, in X-Wing Squad Lists

So I flew five strikers for Hoth, and one of the things I noticed is even though they are incredibly maneuverable, they really need more dice modifications for attack. I have flown the following build in close formations allowing the bomber to give the strikers target locks on a chosen target. I have had good, but not great results. I'm hoping I just need more practice. Thoughts?

I'd do it like this instead:

Striker Support (97)

Scimitar Squadron Pilot (21) - TIE Bomber
TIE Shuttle (0), Twin Ion Engine Mk. II (1), Systems Officer (2), Systems Officer (2)

4x Imperial Trainee (19) - TIE Striker
Adaptive Ailerons (0), Lightweight Frame (2)

Nice idea, however systems officer is limited, so two officers can't be on the same shuttle.

I thought about Howlrunner. But I don't think it can keep up with the aileron maneuvering to keep enough strikers in range one.

I ran this list with some success last week:

2X Zeta Specialist (23)
Fire-Control System (2)
Targeting Synchronizer (3)
Lightweight Frame (2)
Special Ops Training (0)

2X Scarif Defender (18)
Lightweight Frame (2)
Adaptive Ailerons (0)

I didn't expect much from it, just wanted to try out strikers with TL's also. It was surprisingly effective with 12-16 red dice and at least half of them on double mods. The strikers are great at close-in maneuvering and the SF's with two arcs could easily set-up the TL for the strikers if they had a R1 shot on someone.

It doesn't say Limited in my Aurora Squad Builder App. I'll have to send a message to the developer.
