Hi. I'm new here so hello.
Ive just got the blue core set and I think I'm right that the only way to get Vader is the Tie Advanced. But how can you get Luke Skywalker? Is it a x-wing expansion ship???
thanks

You are correct with Vader - he comes with the TIE Advanced expansion.
Luke comes with the original core set.

Luke comes with the original core set.
Added bonus, you'll have two sets of templates and obstacles as well as finally enough dice! And not forgetting the R2-D2 astromech card!

And Biggs!
http://x-wing.fabpsb.net/extensions.php?lng=en is a great reference page for finding which cards come in which sets.
There is also this promo card from last year:

Thanks for all the help. I've bought another core set, the original one with Luke ? And I'm trying to find a Tie advanced now.
Thanks again everyone.
FYI, Vader comes in the TIE Advance pack, but the TIE/X1 title and Advanced Targeting Computer (which are the "fix" for that ship) are in the Imperial Raider box.
Probably worth noting also that the crew version of Vader is in the Lambda and the crew version of Luke in the Falcon.
Fantasy flight definitely want us to buy everything. ?

Yeah, it's almost like they're a private company looking to make a profit on their wares...

Too bad it's Vader.

Wait. Now looking at the card I can see it's Luke! Could have sworn it was Vader.

Actually I made a mistake, I double checked, it's Vader.

it's... double-sided...
not sure if that was a three-post joke, but wanted to be clear for the OP.

Yeah, greedy bastards...
Although - it was quite the **** move to only put the TIE Advanced fix on the Raider.

This is key. I have 4 total cores and have never regretted it. The added dice alone are a good investment and the extra ships are just gravy. Plus having both damage decks is really nice.

Core Set MSRP: $39.95
Extra Dice: -$7.95
X-Wing Model -$14.95
TIE Fighter -$14.95
That's $2.10 you're spending on all the additional upgrades, tokens, templates, Damage Deck, Rules Reference...it's a steal. I'd recommend at least getting both Starters, and then one additional one, to anyone who's considering getting into this hobby seriously.
