I like 'em, bar two things. The first is that Piett is more related to firepower ("Intensify Forward Firepower" is I think his quote), and the other is that Vader is a bit OP for 8 points, since it is impossible to stop him. Get this on a ship and you've practically automatically given it 4-5 face-up damage cards.

I don't understand Palpatine. The way it is worded, you are making the enemy ship attack, not your own.

Vader is too powerful with the token discard. Dial makes him trickier to use.

Not sure what to think of Piett. It's not in his flavor but a decent ability.

Yes, with Palpatine you are forcing your opponent to make an attack against a target of your choice (presumably one of his own ships). I like this card because it captures several thematic characteristics that you might expect from Palpatine:

  • He is turning the Rebels against one another.
  • He is predicting their next move/reading their thoughts and emotions.
  • He is setting a long term plan of his own (He must be attached to a Large ship, so his ship will have a command of 3 (or 2 with Relentless), and cannot equip another officer to manipulate his own command stack)

My rationale for Piett was his strategy in ROTJ: delay the Rebel fleet by harassing them with fighters.

Vader is very good, but I don't think he's much more powerful than Avenger + Boarding Troopers.

Piett I like, doesn't seem that overpowered, it makes flak useless against your fighters unless backed up by enemy fighter attacks. Might be a bit overcosted, really with the(needed) non-unique restriction, non-uniques pop really fast. Maybe 28 points. Vader really should be a discard, if it's meant to be Vader boarding the ship and wreaking havok why can I do it more than once and on multiple ships? Also overpowered if dropped on multiple ships and probably needs a way to turn him off for balance. Maybe make him work more like X-Wing's Kylo Ren where you pick a crew crit and give it to the opposing ship? Would make Medical Team a card you think of rather than "looks like I have a point to spare". Emperor I like though the rules say you can't target your own ships so you're just giving the opponent a free attack, needs to say; "attack a friendly ship".

P.S. It was the Emperor's plan, not Piett's, he says "orders straight from the Emperor, only need to keep them from escaping".

Piett will compete with Sloan for boosting fighter builds, which I'm not sure is needed.

Palpatine's ability is a bit daft to be honest. I just can't imagine the emperor convincing Akbar into unleashing a full broadside against an unsuspecting CR-90. How do you even balance for this possibility? Plus the guessing game part of it is very easily removed entirely by Director Isard.

Darth Vader is interesting, but boarders on too powerful, yet too restrictive (can only be on an ISD, while at range 1, with a C.F token/dial and costing 8 pts). What if instead the crew damage added by this effect does not count against your damage total? This way you can be stacking powerful effects, but you are not going to outright blow up a ship just by dropping Vader on them on turn 3. Then make Vader cheaper and can be on any ship with the appropriate upgrade slots.

Piett is way too powerful IMO. It basically brings back destroyed fighters from the squadrons to life.
