any tutorial or podcast with tips on the subject out there ?

asking for a friend  who has SC tomorrow and would rather not break the pretty thing

ffg makes some dark magic to make it fit in the first place...

I keep mine stored in its blister. It's not too hard to get it in and out. If your friend is worried, just push in some of the plastic that keeps it in place on one of the wings.

That's what I always do with stuff that's hard to get out or back in the blisters: push the blister plastic in, then push it back out.

Honestly, the blisters are more trouble than they're worth. All my large and huge ships sit nestled against each other in a shoebox. Saves a lot of space, and I haven't broken any yet!

I have a relatively cheap but good storage solution... just have to finish up the YouTube video for it...

This.

Just search for the bits that grip, and push them in.

I went to JoAnn Fabrics and bought a section of 2" foam. Cut the foam to fit in the top of my Plano case. Just use a Sharpie to trace the outline of the ship(s) and cut out. This sheet holds all the "fat" ships like the Lambda, Upsilon, Ghost and U-Wing.

The foam can be cut to fit in a shoe box or equivalent if you're only transporting one or two ships.

I just put two Ups in my white-red plano case. As an xwing player of 3 years, I can safely say the red white two layer plano is the BEST economical storage out there.
