StM! Peltas are already amazing. Been having so much fun with one recently. So much synergy with TFA though.

Tell me more, tell me more. That's the only one I haven't tried yet, just couldn't build anything with it that i liked (you're a bigger garm fan than me, though, haha)

It's been surprisingly effective in those Garm fleets. Obviously he's great to feed it tokens, but I think it can work with other admirals just fine. I usually start triggering it on turn 3, but in some games it can start working turn 2. So, you need to feed it 3-4 tokens plus a discard in Turn 6. It does take some upkeep but is fully worth it.

The first couple of games I spent time counting the number of shields it regenerated and found it was somewhere around 9-10 shields a game at a minimum in a 4 ship fleet. That makes a huge difference over the course of a game.

I was not sold when it first came out as I had it lumped in with Reinforced Shields as being bad. It plays so much better than that though. I also had Projection Experts on my Pelta to increase the shield shenanigans. between STM!, Projection Experts, and Garm tokens my ships were re-generating 4 shields a turn without using an Engineering dial. Doesn't help against one-shot kills, but really effective against any kind of grind-you-down approach.

I'm very curious about what those Quad Battery Turrets are going to do, because if they buff the flak potential of their ship then the Task Force Organa titles become less problematic. Oh no, my Hammerhead that was going to flak anyways had its title tapped exhausted so another Hammerhead could mess up a ship? Aw, shucks. I guess it's just going to be stuck flakking exactly like it was planning to do anyways.

I heard quad battery turrets double the damage of every hit you roll on red dice out of your side arc. What do you mean, "Ackbars already too powerful!"? I don't think he's powerful enough! I am not a crackpot.

Seems fair with HMC80s and Assault Frigates and totally appropriate with Hammerheads and Quasars who basically can't do much of anything useful with it. :P

Seriously though, FFG, the one mystery card per wave thing is getting obnoxious.

If we're playing "why was that card in that box" then Interdictor come on down! We've got 2 cards related to squadrons for you, with your squadrons 2 to take advantage of them!

Because flight commander belonged with the interdictor. Flight. Flipping. Commander.

We also have our next runner up: the Pelta box with its strangely mispacked Raider Flechette Torpedoes.

This 'Dictor was Made for Nose-Punchin' :D

I knew mentioning the Interdictor was gonna get you talking about your list, haha.

Did you have Flight Commander on the 2 of them, though? And if so, how often did you use them for their intended purpose?

Only one Interdictor had the FC/FCT Combination - the other Dictor was Admiral Boat / Scrambler Support with the interdictor title, as it would be straying back (only slightly), as the FC/FCT Interdictor was the first to move with the Nose Punch, it generally became the intended reprisal target.

Although that was 50% of my Interdictors, I'm pretty sure that I was doing so at a Rate at least 100% higher than everyone else ;)

And I did find that after the launch, I was generally able to catch up an be redirecting the bombers for turn 2, because can do so after moving, it was basically Boosted Comms :)

And I mean, I came up with Nose Punch because I sat there and said... "They must have put FC/FCT in here for a reason ", and I set out to find how it worked...

... Geometry was involved.

As a man who spent several hours one night getting the right deployment to effectively castle (yes, the chess term!) two ships starting off, I can appreciate geometry haha. If memory serves, it came about after @shmitty 's vlog of kiting away with Ackbar and deploying the Assault Frigate and MC30 almost touching. Fun times, IIRC.

We see people occasionally using the Interdictor around here, but its mainly showing up in our ~monthly 500 point games. If i ever had an intention of Imping, i'd try it out. Unfortunately, I can't get a Rebel admiral to steal me any. They'd rather just blow them all up instead!

i find it unfair that the Rebels now have Fleet commands and now Task Forces and the largest military hasn't gotten s**t

Experimental Retrofits win you games before games start.

NOOOOOOSE PUNCH!

I mean, Task Force, I can understand... Most of the Empires Admirals and Commanders are either Political, or completely and utterly self-absorbed in greater goals of promotion.... Working Together is a foreign concept for them. Even when they're ordered to.

Plus I'm not sure the Imperial Navy understands the might of Voltron.

Figuring out how to swap positions of 2 AFs in a conga line early on in Armada took me so much work. I had the deployment down to a science. Many hours fiddling with them on my game table.

Totally paid off though. Caught so many people by surprise that were convinced I had to move the lead ship first.

You can @Drasnighta or just @Interdictor

:D

Not all that secret in this case. I am pretty sure @geek19 was referring to this video where I talk about it.

Basically if you keep the 2nd ship in the line about half a base inside of the lead ship it can get around it on a speed 3 turn.

That is the one, yes.

As he Demonstrated - you don't even have to do that ;) I read everything on these boards. I don't often reply , but I at least read everything :)
