Rebel squadrons & Using wedge

By nixonite85, in Star Wars: Armada Fleet Builds

I am relatively new and I fly rebel mainly coz people at FLGS said they all fly imperial.

looking for advice on rebel squadrons in general. I've been using Jan ors to cover bombers and then Briggs and a yt1300 as escorts to soak up damage, does this seem like a good starting point?

I've been playing with wedge who Should be awesome with that extra +2 against activated but I've had trouble getting it into play, any advice?

What kind of fleet are you running the squadrons with? What is the role that you want them to play? Need perhaps a bit more information to be able to make suggestions :)

Cheers

I tend to run mon mothma with torpedo mc30 and corv and make full use of evades with turbo redirect.

normally run a set of bombers on their own mission to target a particular ship using escort and Jan as cover

I love me some Biggs for sure, he needs targets to swap with, YT1300 are beefy but their speed 2 makes the ball too slow to catch most ships

How many points you have to work with?

How does this look

Biggs

Jan

X-wing x 3

Y-wing x 3

107 pts total

That's a great start thanks

If you are running mc30s the natural partner is the yt-2400. Its got a black ship dice (no crits but not to be underestimated how hard that 75% chance to hit piles up) and 4 blue antisquad putting it at the head of the class there too.

Rogue means you can send them off at their own target and they dont lose effectiveness like xwings.

I ran dodonna (now not as good as Mothma) with 3 mc30s and 8 yt2400s.

That was when 3 activations was good enough, but the yt2400s just destroyed anything they came up against. Now it would like 2 mc30s (both titles) with 3 flotillas, mostly slicers to get rid of pesky squad commands getting the alpha strike on my rogues.
