The Emerald Inquisition

Episode 2: The Crane Conspiracy

Foxtrot Four, Isawa Jim, and Moto Anou are The Emerald Inquisition! We are a Podcast that discusses Competition, Deck Construction, The Meta Environment, Story, and perhaps more favored by all Inquisitors, The Community. Episode 2 ends pretty strongly with a pretty awesome discussion of Black Lions and White Lions should anyone remember such old old things.

We will also, in the future, be dragging people in for Interiga- I mean, Interviews, and Discussions! Some of the folks near by are fairly big names, in the Old L5R Community. Seeing as our podcast is hosted only a stones throw away from the Old Vanguard Stronghold. So keep an eye out for discussions and interviews.

We also have a facebook page, and a twitter and would LOVE to hear from you. Talk to us, it's the Main reason we are doing this is the first place, we want to hear from you. Critique, Comment, Stories of Victories and Defeats, Awesome Gen Con Stories, whatever you want! We made this podcast to engage with a larger scope of the L5R community in a broader context. So follow us, and talk to us!

Excellent podcast!

I liked your style and pacing, disagreed with some points but great works are meant to elicit emotion!

Really nice 'cast; looking forward to more!

This week we discuss a LOT of big ideas, what kills a game? are LCG's viable? what can they do to prolong the, what seems like inevitable, decay of the game? and Does Anyone Regret the time they spend playing these games? That and much more! Message us on 'dem 'dar social media sites and make sure to pester us about we much you think we're wrong. That's very oddly something we enjoy.

So this week we answer the deeply profound and infinitely disectable question, "What is a Hate Card?", and "What is Not a Hate Card?". We also spend some good time wondering if Role Cards are going to be "Sensei" Cards, and specifically, wondering what they will do and if they can behave as a form of static hate card against certain decks you are week against. We also have a few rules questions like, "Can you attack with no personalities able to assign? Can you declare an attack and not assign anyone at all?" infinite questions and so few answers. Remember to hit us up on social media and bother us, or message me and I'll post a wall of text.

This week we have a Special Guest, Kyle Nix! He joins us in some hard speculation of what the Kitsu Muri will bring, what a single core box environment will be like, what clan out of the box wins? And most importantly the amount of player skill accounts for game play and wins? This game has more player decisions than any other game we've seen to date and I think the more decisions you make the more involved in your own victory you feel, which is good for balance and good for the players as a whole. So join the Inquisition as we talk shop with names from our community. And we'll see you ALL at Gen Con!

So it's been a while and we've got a lot to discuss. We talk about what each clan wants from splash and what each clan can most benefit. We also discuss The Gold Standard of Dragon Splash as it seems to be everyone's Go-To Splash Choice. We wrap it up with some PSA's on local tournaments around our area, and I open the floor to anyone who wants to talk to us about pretty much anything. We look forward to the release of the game and will be playing non-stop when we get our hands on it finally.
