Question for adaptive ailerons

By Last_Red_Ninja, in X-Wing

So maybe I just couldn't find it or didn't look hard enough but my question is.

What is the consequences for not using adaptive ailerons when equipped, and you don't have that card that allows you to choose when to use it? The card says before you reveal your manuver you must use adaptive ailerons. ....so what happens when you forget ?

Then you forget. But it's your job to remember.

That's it?. No your opponent can choose what your manuver is, no you get stressed. Nothing?

You could always concede, but no, nothing in the rules about it. Although if you forget when you plan your maneuver and your opponent reminds you, you'll have to do it.

If you're going to take it, make an effort to play the game properly.

It's both your AND your opponent's job to remember mandatory things. There's no specific penalty for forgetting, in most cases personally I'd try to reset the gamestate and resolve properly, and if not possible, and if I can't work out a mutually agreeable solution with my opponent, then you're in TO country.

Hhm I feel they should make it a rule. Cuz if you just say oh I forgot and continue with your manuver then why have that other card that allows you to choose?. Plus I do my best to play it properly that's why I ask. If I forget what's the penalty so I'll take it.

This is a just in case thing. I played last night and was super tired so I forgot a round to do it. But thanks ?

I use Scarifs and normally move first accordingly. Hence, my maneuver planning takes AA as part of the planning and would screw me up considerably if I didnt do it upon revealing. I dont know how you'd forget unless you only have one and dont play em often!

I don't use it often for my imp striker. The card said before you reveal your manuver you must use the adaptive ailerons. First round I revealed my manuver first. :/ So I wanted to play fair so for the game it was just take a stress. But I guess next time if we forget or (don't do it in the right order) well just go back to where we make our moves and I'll do the adaptive ailerons

I mean saying "oh I forgot" and just not doing it is cheating assuming you are just taking advantage of "forgetting". In a tournament that will get you punished as fast as people catch on. Otherwise it's fairly easy to undo it by just reversing the maneuver.

The only card that allows you to choose is one specific pilot. For everyone else, it's mandatory.

But otherwise, yeah. If you forget once, it happens. If you keep "forgetting" every game, it's cheating and you'll get caught and likely DQed.

Yea no if I mess up I own it and try to correct it if possible or if there's a penalty I'll accept it. I'm going to do my first tourney soon so hopefully I can get better with adaptive ailerons

Godspeed! The Strikers are a blast to fly. Once you start Aileroning regularly, you'll have a hard time forgetting just because it's so much fun to do. If anything, I have the opposite problem: I'll sometimes forget that I can't Aileron because I got stressed.

AA should be glued to all striker pilots*

*because science and other reasons.. Can you even read this?

If you forget before revealing your maneuver, you just do the AA move as normal then do the maneuver. It's not like it changes anything if you do it after. It's when you forget after having moved and the game's moved on to other activations or shooting that it's an issue.

AA makes Strikers super slippery! I really like using them with low PS so I can get position on the enemy. Usually Im able to make a mess of their maneuvers and often cause them to lose actions. Then look out as 4 red dice each from FIVE Strikers come rollong in WITH Focus!

We have an escalation league coming up and Im actually considering a SWARM of SEVEN!

Easy solution: only fly Duchess with AA. Then if you forget... no big deal!

This is just my interpretation, but If I notice that my opponent ddn't use adaptive ailerons but the time has past I would make him go back and do it. I treat must different than may when it comes to missed opportunities. Most of the people I play with agree with that interpretation.

This is a low key floor rules thread lol

But really, floor rules......
