my guess is a hammer head is a better size.... a nebulon is just way to big

I saw that article, and my heart skipped a beat, but then I realized it's not X-Wing... at least today's article wasn't another Runewars preview.
I know it is a pipe dream... but the Nebulon would be nice. Even if they sold in 2-3 sections (each playable on it's own) I'd still buy it.

No, it shouldn't be. There's some shots of it in comparison to the Ghost where it looks maybe twice as long - if even. Probably not as small as Gozantis since in Armada that's like, a two-ship flotilla mini and the Hammerhead is a single ship per base but not too much larger either. The docks you can see on the side are about the same size as the ones on a CR-90 which can hold an A-Wing.
Looking at this screen capture from Rogue One, it looks like they're actually slightly smaller than the CR-90.
See, I look at that picture and it looks like the hammerhead is much further away than the cr90. And the second HH, off on the right, is obviously a lot farther away but doesn't look that much smaller.
Eh. Wookieepedia doesn't have a length for it. I guess we'll have a better idea once the Armada ship comes out and we can compare it to the CR90 in person. That model had to get approved by LF.
What ship is that in the lower right of the picture? It looks about the right size.

We've been told The Hammerhead is aimed at some 90 meters long, given by the makers of "Rebels", so a little shorter than the CR90.
But there is also a disconnect between the Hammerheads shown in Rebels, and the hammerheads shown in Rogue One. The Rogue One ones seem to have got a bit of an upgrade.

Ironically, given your thoughts about the Minstrel and the correct point about not needing to release a small ship with an Epic ship, the Minstrel would be a great opportunity for FFG to refresh the Z-95.
The Z-95 isn't in a bad space, per se. Certainly no worse than any other 2 attack ship. But it was released in Wave 4, and hasn't had any new toys since then. I mean, yes, it did get new pilots in the Most Wanted pack, but the actual frame itself has the same options that the Z-95 had at launch. If they wanted to update the ship, this would be an opportunity.
The other Interesting thing that could be done with a Minstrel would be a kind of upgrade that would allow Huge ships to spend energy to repair/rearm friendly small ships.
If FFG is saying 150m is their upper limit, however, I think the Minstrel is a touch too big. But I do like the way it looks, so I won't be upset to be wrong.
I mean, the Minstrel is 160 and very well placed I think for Scum epic - like it has enough titles, it has interesting features like concealed turbolaser mounts and the hangar bay and also comes standard with a Tractor Beam Projector which is something I don't think epic ships do yet (despite capital level tractors being way more common than the tactical beams you occasionally see on attack ships). If FFG could squish their scale a little I think it has a lot of interesting mechanical opportunities for epic and scum epic specifically. It could easily come with a Z-95 or 2 as escorts, maybe give them some new tricks in scum so they stay relevant over light sycks, but it could also just as easily not since Guns for Hire is also coming out with more missiles and illicits.
I think Hammerheads are more likely, since we seem to be seeing so many Rebels ships lately, and Rogue One just came out. However, FFG doesn't like to repeat niches, and the Hammerhead and CR-90 are very similar in size/role. In that case, perhaps we'll see a Nebulon? Not sure.
Alternately, there could be a perfectly-sized ship for this game in The Last Jedi that we just haven't seen yet.

The nebulon is bigger than the lancer, and they explicitly said the lancer was way to big. That's why they had to create the raider.
There will never be an official nebulon for x-wing.
The minstrel star yacht is only lightly larger than a cr90, they could pull that off. The Wild karde is also in the right size range for the large scum huge. Seems most likely one of those will be next. After that, who knows.
There are always alternatives.... and size matters not.

We should have a lot of things we won't because it doesn't benefit 100/6 play. Love the space station idea though. You could even have docking rules to trade a damaged generic for a new one if you controlled the station.
Crusader-class Corvette for Scum!! I know that it is bit big for X-Wing, but so was Raider.. Very appealing design!
Im pretty sure that Scum will get another huge ships and it will be the next one on the line, we are few ships behind of Imperial fleet and one behind Rebels. Might be even that we get Rebel and Scum huge ships same time.
.. almost wanted to say something to the people who will be writing all that Scum hate stuff, but I'm better than that, I'm trying not to get provoked!
