Ritual Candles and Grotqesque Statue

By Jobu, in Arkham Horror: The Card Game

Just wanted to check that I have this right:

So the Candles say: Reaction " After a Skull, Cultist, Elder Thing or Tablet symbol is revealed during a test you are performing: You get +1 skill value for this test. "

Statue says: " When you would reveal a chaos token, spend 1 charge: Reveal 2 chaos tokens instead of 1. Choose 1 of those tokens to resolve, and ignore the other. "

So if I understand this, if I draw two tokens and one is a skull and the other a -1, I can choose the -1, which then becomes a 0 since I revealed a skull.

I am also fairly sure that based on the wording that if you reveal two skulls with the statue, you could add +2 to it. You can react to each instance of revealing. I am less sure of this.

Thoughts? Also, are there any other instances of an interaction like this with the candles?

You should treat the token you ignore as if you had never revealed it : source.

I just looked through the official Arkham FAQ and didn't find that entry.

It's the answer to a rule question asked through the official link on this forum.

The FAQ's on Arkham DB are updated with e-mailed rulings from the designer that haven't been officially published yet. They are legitimate, and Khudzlin is correct.

Thanks all.

You're welcome.

Yeah, the candles/statue combo looks very powerful but alas, it doesn't work. The candles/defiance combo, on the other hand.... ;)

And yeah, Network and Khudzlin already have said it, but I'll reiterate because it's me: I only add FAQ notes on Arkhamdb if I've seen what Matt Newman, the lead designer, has said about a specific question. Mplain, who did the FAQs before me, did the same.

awesome, was just double checking. thank you all!
