Yay! Even though I'm not going to Euros, I'm not going to be able to play after early next week until about the 26th. So hopefully Round 4 will be more than a week.

Hi Bjorn, unfortunately I am going to have to drop. It's painful as massive vassal armada fanatic, but I am going to have virtually no time available during June and the first 2 weeks of July at all.

We played my Planetary Ion Cannons (They are SO destructive!)

Madine leads his army against Sloane with the first movement!

Round 1:

After both fleets staying in one side of the field whilst the other was protected by 2 Ground-to-Space Ion Cannons. The Imperial fleet being really close togheter, while the rebels took more space to themselves, ultimately a better choice, as the drunk Corvus pilot decides to once again to block the other ships in his fleet (I'll have to remember to send that guy down the trash compactor, 2 matches in a row...) Luckily the ISD pilot managed to safely go to the other side, although now his front arc faced nothing. The MC30 cucumbers and the GR75s proceeded normally towards the adversary (or as normal as you can get with MC30s and Madine and Navigate commands), while Madine himself in the liberty thrusted towards the ISD.

Round 2:

This is where the fun begins. One of the Planet cannons shot madine with Imperial Marksmanship. While this, Liberty takes profit of the ISD diversion to the left to get some full potency shots at the tasty raiders just hanging there, deciding to ignore the ISD's side arc avaible. When the monstruous shots come from the front's gunnery team aboard the rebel flagship, the Corvus becomes space dust (No more worries about bad pilots) and the Impetuous has a slightly luckier end than it's fellow escort of the Grand Admiral. The MC80's pilot then sneezes while trying to do one of the Madine shenanigans and ends up on the booty of the ISD (Not the bounty hunter term, the other one, he didn't want Most Wanted). It is now time for the Sloane Counter attack, and it comes once again at its full splendour, Boarding troopers spend the exhausted braces and get the redirect exhausted so the Avenger can shine, while dropping 4 TIE/F squadrons from it's hangar bay, taking down part of the side shield and calling Mareek with the lambda for some nice shots on the back, which then became the target for the Spinally armed ISD to shoot. Although the crits were not on my side, now having compartment fire for a tokenless ship... ** And so the ships carried on advancing towards each other, while Tychu and Shara jumped forawrd into the TIE screen and Impetuous used external racks to no great good on the back of the Liberty and rammed a GR-75 and shot Shara. The Imperial squadrons made sure to take care of Shara and avenge Black squadron, dead with a triple hit from the A-wing ace, and rightfully done so by a quadruple by Soontir.

Round 3:

The closest cannon shots the GR-75! The Cucumbers are now by the ISD and out of its front range (why Madine?...) and start the party. The ISD joins it and tries a cheeky shot from the back into the Liberty and takesits 1 hull of with a red crit (which turned out to be structural damage, luck wasn't on my side) and shoots Admonition back to try and compensate for the double APT. The other GR-75 goes sleepily towards the Impetuous, and gets punished for it, with few hull left after it, and then the raider tries to ram off the 1 damage from the other transport, and does no more than put itself to the broadside balck range of Lando's MC30 with APT. You can guess what happens next and whose side the tears came from. Both 30s are now chasing the ISD and only imperial squadrons remain, with the sole purpuose of crushing the transports.

Round 4:

The first MC30 Volley comes through and the ISD doesn't like it. Mareek and Soontir skillfully miss the 1 hull shieldless GR75 ("Aces") while the Avenger tries to shake off the cucmbers. Second volley comming and the ISD DEFINETELY doesn't like it. Then more squadrons chase transports as one of the reaches the station.

Round 5:

The ultimatum of the battle, the ISD now had two MC30s bumping on its back and in an attempt to shake it off, unfortunately flies off the board**, but not without commanding Mareek, who destroys the transport in the station.

** At this point in the beggining I made a joke about my ISD flying off because of the Raider, turns out I am a Medium!!!!

Had a really good 3 hours on this relaxed game with several Undo's do to accidental drags (and I mean A LOT). Villa is an amazing guy and opponent and I wish him the best of luck in the tournament.

I am not able to upload the logfile at the moment, will do it tomorrow.

Thanks for taking the time to write such an excellent report! I made a huge mistake with the Liberty in trying to turn to chase the ISD instead of just running away after blowing up the Raider – although I guess the Lib eating the crazy Boarding Troopers/RLB/Avenger explosion meant the MC30s didn't have to, so it turned out alright in the end.

An incredibly fun game with a great opponent! Looking forward to playing you again some time, although I'm definitely even more terrified of Sloane now than I was before.
