Help me StarWars/MARVEL/DC nerds/geeks/fanboys...

By ExpandingUniverse, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

.... you're my only hope.

I CANNOT for the life of me find official or unofficial stats for White Lantern Power Rings... I have the DC Adventures stuff, with Green Lantern and various Lantern Corps info and M&M 3E. I've googled various stuff and even found a piccy of Batman as a White Lantern.. but no game stats...

Or have I totally missed it in the Heroes and Villians Vol I & II for DC Adventures? ...which I've only thumbed through, not actually read cover to cover like my FFGSW stuff.

p.s. found powers/abilities on some wiki's bit no numbers/stats

Are you sure you have the right forum?

I think the OP has gotten desperate enough to cross the fandom streams and hope to find someone who has that knowledge.

Okay, little bits of input I can say here:

1) The White Lantern Ring is a combination of all of the other rings/emotion spectrum, making it a rather powerful tool. Statting such a thing may be beyond the scope of DC Adventures, as the points are just going to be too out of hand for a player to have and may be too powerful for an NPC versatility-wise, or it may just be a reskin of the rings.

2) It is also a MacGuffin, being used less as a power ring and more as a means of things to get rolling (i.e. Boston Brand coming back to life with it).

3) The White Lantern Ring is seen most at the tail end of Blackest Night and in the New 52 with Kyle Rayner. DC Adventures didn't even touch the New 52, and set up various events (like Blackest Night) as side things in the DC Universe book.

I will note that someone did do a writeup here for a White Lantern. Just a little more versatile than the basics of any of them, but it should get you started.

Good luck!

I AM REALLY DESPERATE.. awesome link.. I searched everywhere, you're Google-Fu is better than mine :)

and it's all sorted.. cheers guys ;) I'll primarily make it the foil to Black Lantern Ring (like.. duh!!!) with a mishmash of all the other power rings..

and some off that link

p.s. That White Lantern Batman.... I need therapy :D normal service can resume as I wait for the F&D splat and adventure I per-ordered

I had a feeling desperation was settled in.

And don't feel bad about the Google-Fu; my handle here and elsewhere denotes my actual job (yes, I am a librarian), so researching is what I do.

Glad to be of service, and have fun with your game! DC Adventures wasn't my bag, but I can see the appeal, but that's a conversation/rant better suited for elsewhere.

I did find that '... put a ring on it...' thread but couldn't find any White Lantern splat, even with the search engine. I'm usually quite good at finding stuff after spending the Christmas to Summer terms as the school librarian covering long term sick leave - was a HUGE learning curve, but so glad I did it.

TBH The M&M system is a good effort at mixing Champions/HERO with the D20... there's so many archetypes available and fan stuff now, all you have to do is think of a name and you have instant heroes or villains... there's defo less prep than most RPGs too ;) which is always a bonus

As long as you're happy with what you are gaming with, have at it. Personally, I wouldn't touch it again after playing Fate, Cortex Heroic, FFG's Star Wars, and the half dozen other games I've gotten into since DC Adventures was released, but that's just my opinion.

If you want to talk shop on non-Star Wars stuff, drop a PM so we don't clog things on a Star Wars forum. Otherwise, happy gaming!
