Night Caller Kit Bash Conversion

By Metal Man, in X-Wing Painting and Modification

Hey everyone, you gotta check out this Night Caller. It's a crazy kit bash that we just finished recently and I love it! There's the video and some pics too! It looks really amazing and would love to hear any feedback on what you all think?

Thats a great looking kitbash. The problem with calling it the Night Caller is that the Night Caller was originally modified to carry 6 TIEs, so it could fit 12 X-Wings.
Of course this is difficult to manage as the CR90 model isn't 1/270.

But otherwise it's awesome!

I dunno if I'd call it a kitbash when 90% of the ship's the same, but it's pretty cool regardless! :)

Well you asked for feedback, so...

The back turret would look better flush in the docking ring instead of just glued to the domed bit. The whole thing needs a dark wash too, to fill in those chalky details.

Still, nice overall. I like the more symmetrical hangars as opposed to the Far Star glommed-on look.

The back turret is pretty rough. It could've used at least a little sanding to get rid of what looks like the cut marks from its extraction from the other model. Other than that, I love it! The paint job looks cool. It gives it a stealth look. Being able to hold 4 X-wings makes it a nice answer to the Gozanti, albeit a much more heavily armed one. This thing is loaded with turbolasers! It's a nice little pocket carrier but, reading the Wiki, I wouldn't call it the Nightcaller. I'd call it something else. I'd love to see the custom cards for this thing and see it on a mat. A battle report would be cool too. Hopefully, the lucky owner will post more info on this unique little beauty.
