I like the part where they say they can take trumpets... sure FFG, sure ;)

I think this is a more precise explanation on the Overgrow mechanic though. Basically you add one overgrowth token to a piece of terrain for each Overgrow your army has during setup. The overgrowth does nothing on its own but it does fuel other abilities.

I was just going to post the same thing. :)

Perhaps there's another upgrade they can take that enables the music slot and they just forgot to also preview that one? *shrugs*

They do say something about the Latari singing to them. Could bad an upgrade that allows other types of upgrades.

I like the different unit upgrades the scion offers , can't wait to experiment with both options.

That support scion is nice and cheap. It makes the unit more mobile and forces your opponent to kill burn through 3 wounds behind 2-3 defense (+ any modifers the unit may get) before being able to remove your rear rank.

This is in fact not about Uthuk.../sadness

I'm so looking forward to starting my Latari collection, the Aymhelin Scion are just so cool. Still don't have my Daqan painted though. Ugh.

Since we're talking about Latari I did a bit of manipulation on one of the preview photos and came up with this:

It's a bit blurry but text reads: [Skill] - Roll 1 blue die. For each [Surge], choose an enemy unit at range 1-3. Each chosen enemy suffers [Red Rune] damage.

There was some discussion about her here:

Well, at least you know that you read it the same as others. :)

The front line scion can stun, for archers this can be super useful

Definetly. Making that Oathsworn/Deathknight potential charge into a harmless march not only saving you from alot of pain and suffering but potentialy giving the enemy a panic token aswell to boot. Rough.

You have to act that out in order to use the card though. Brush up on your Latari chords.

*sigh* this is getting really old... I don't know about other games but the X-Wing articles are notorious for similar gaffes.

I really, really want someone to raise this with Christian Peterson in the Q&A at the next In-Fight report.

At this point they really need to come clean and admit that it's an intentional troll, or commit to hiring competent article writers familiar with the game in question.

Sorry, I know this is tangential, but we know what the support scion and the support lancers do. Do we know yet what the support rune golem does?

Not yet, but who wants to bet that it adds "special action: give one engaged enemy unit a stun token'?

FFG marketing: here's a super combo! Please enjoy!

Also FFG marketing: oh you can't do that? Oh well you already bought the plastic.

Kinda glad the elves' large model is more of a budget glass-cannon rather than a full fledge powerhouse. Its kind of in its own boat compared to the other two large models so far.

I'm loving the Overgrowth mechanic and that low low cost of the Support Scion really helps too. The Frontline version is ok and I'm happy to see it with a low cost and untap surge ability too.

Or proofread before publishing with the current and updated card stats, rather than probable playtest info.

The elves siege unit has a ranged attack. I feel like that's a nifty trade-off for the raw power that falls in line with the army's character.

Honestly, it's gonna be a tough choice between throwing all my Scions into Support upgrades, or running them all as single-unit ranged stunners to blunt charges. Both strategies feel pretty darned useful, and seem like they ought to be effective at bolstering the survivability of infantry.

Gonna require lots and lots and lots of experimenting.

A mobile shootyarmy, with a unit that lays out immobilizes and stuns. I probably wanna run 2 3X2 blocks of archers, can't imagine running 9 tray block. Wonder why they haven't shown they unit building side of deep wood archers.

The scions will be key to the archers survive ability.

Maybe, but the Deepwood Archers' surge ability makes them pretty mobile already. Granted, you may be sacrificing damage for maneuverability. Combing that surge ability with the Scions, though, that's even crazier!

In a 8 round game if I can evade and shoot, use Leonx to engage on my terms. I feel pretty confident of winning on points.
