Should I hold a funeral for TIE interceptors?

The answer is the lowly Alpha.

Twice the heallth and twice the attacks for the same cost as the typical Fel build.

See, now that's proper imperial tactics at work.

"These rebels are too good for our experienced interceptor pilots to match them, we don't have enough guys trained!"

"Well, instead we'll just send twice as many incompetent guys out and see how that works out for us!"

Don't count interceptors out yet, I'm sure they'll release a Stolen TIE Interceptor with an illicit slot soon! Then you can fly the best Interceptor in the game........with Rebels...

Don't mind Sabine here, she's just helping with FAQ art adjustments for FFG. She's really helpful!

X wing v2.

sabine flys every ship. All games consist of sabines flying around shooting at each other. There are no other pilots, and every Sabine has exactly the same rules.

I missed the episode where Wampa joined the Rebels?

Ahsoka and Rex are far better than Wampa. Wampa was only great during the Wave 7 Rebel Regen meta, and only reliable with Palpatine.

That's Clone Wars. I thought we weren't doing Prequel ships.

Good bye inteceptors

Wait until the TIE_Interceptor/FO comes out, then you can hold a funeral for all your TIE Interceptors.

For epic, what do you think about 4 sabers loaded on the Gozanti each equipped with rage, with an inspiring recruit on the Gozanti?

Interceptors are not dead, they have just need to be relegated to old-school casual, mission and Epic games. I think FFG is so d*** bent on the Mouse, his f***ing cartoons and obscure character focus that classic cannon characters and ships are irrelevant to their new business model.

Focus on with what FFG made in the past, when they were designing a Star Wars game. Forget the FAQs and whatever nonsense they have released recently, grab a pint, set up an old-school game with some friends and enjoy it!

much as i love the interceptor design, i hate the way they function in xwing.

Its one of those OP or Trash types of builds. Theyre by default fragile but deadly, which means either they go up so fast they didnt do anything or due to their evasion they just never get hit and rampage through everything.

Its boring. Interceptors have always been my favorite TIE but i played xwing with them for maybe 2 months and i stopped using them entirely, loooooong before they started getting phased out, because they do the exact same thing every game against every opponent. I'm all for amazing dial shenanigans but more along the lines of odd maneuver combos or card interactions, not Boost Barrelroll 2turn every single round.

I totally get what you're saying. I've long suspected that the green dice keeping my 4 Alpha Sq. Pilots alive had more to do with my success with Alpha Fleet Officer than the actual squad or my flying capabilities. They just bail me out so often, and it makes me think I am better than I actually am.

The other thing you mentioned was 2-speed turn -> boost + barrel roll every round. I agree that this has become stale (and is part of the reason I dig TIE strikers so much). But that's why I love flying Alpha Sq. Pilots: they hardly ever self-stress, so their entire dial is open! It's amazing! Bank 3 + boost has some serious speed, and can put you in some great positions to attack or follow up with a 1-turn + barrel roll the next turn. Problem is, no focus token, which is why I feel like they need Fleet Officer support (or Comms Booster + Grand Moff Tarkin + Coordinate support in Epic).

Can't wait to be able to barrel roll a Raider

I've been running Alphas with a Delta, no fleet officer available. In my experience, a focused Intercepter is good for surviving 1 good hit- even a torpedo strike, usually, if you dont get unlucky with the crit. The second good hit is massive overkill without the token, of course, but even that just makes their low hull deceptively good, as it doesnt "waste points" trying to stop the second juggernaut.

Interceptor is my favorite ship too. Of course auto-damage is more present than the past but I don't consider they are death !

hull/shield with my royal guard pilot do some good job against my opponent. And with intensity coming I think we have more toys to play !
