Maybe a bit, sure, but I'll wager it's more a timing issue; see my ramblings please.

It's just that negativity towards new scum releases is absolutely the wrong thing to express. It takes away the joy of scum players about a release that has nothing to do with the problems imps are experiencing. Instead it might even help them by shifting the meta. In any case these ships are FUN to fly against, unlike jumpmasters, triple ks or excessively used turrets.
The time for imps will come back. Meanwhile we should be careful not to ruin everybody's fun by constant whining.
Yes, this.
I think the business constraints and issues with designing, promoting, manufacturing and selling a product that is made overseas causes some arguably unforeseen timing issues that FFG and the game should be given some grace over. Let's let that slide a bit shall we? Did the release of the article heralding the new upgraded Scum ships come at a bad time when Scum is at the top of their game due to an OP ship chassis? Yes. Could they have released it at a better time? Sure. But the Expansion itself is a great thing that shouldn't cause grief for anyone as I'll bet most of us own quite a few of each. I honestly love the Kiraxeaxerax.
However, that timing issue has merit for grace. There is something that FFG should get no grace for, but only vengeful salt (evil smile inserted here). It seems, from looking in from the outside, FFG has a real self inflicted inability to understand the real issue that is driving so much salt in the X-Wing community. The chassis of the JK5 is simply ridiculous, period; I know, I fly them competitively with open shame. Those who fly her and those who don't all see this as plain as the nose on their faces when they arise in the morning and wonder why they have to get up and go to work. Almost comically, they have swatted cards and upgrades that have connections to the wonder chassis as if it will somehow alter the ship's core. This was, and is, sheer folly. When viewing their shocking incompetence on this one simple issue with the backdrop of such an amazing wonderful game they have produced over years of hard work, it truly makes one slap their own forehead. I'll easily give them grace on every other point they have faced, for they have all been logically viewed and steps have been (sometimes slowly, but see above) taken. But this? The JK5's chassis being unaltered is nonsensical. Herein lies the genesis of the over-salt now seasoning all the games forums, and causing salty rotten vegetables to be thrown at innocent expansions.
Now where's my tea?
