A different Pelta list

So I wanted to try out the Pelta, but didn't want to go with max squads. So here is what I came up with...a Dodonna/Ozzel list when you put Entrapment Formation on the Pelta. Can this list cause some problems? I am also debating the choice of Most Wanted as the red objective. Arguments can be made for Advanced Gunnery, Blockade Run, and also Close Range Intel Scan. The VCX-100's are there to handle the early token movement in the yellow and blue objectives. Any thoughts or comments would be appreciated.

I really like this list.

With the caveat that it's going to risky with no fighter support to really speak of, I think it'd be fun to play.

As far as the red objectives...

Most wanted may be your best bet, seconded by Advanced Gunnery.

I had a terrible experience with Blockade Run and tend to avoid it because the play area gets cut in half and Imperials can just concentrate so much firepower in your reduced path. Close Intel you don't really have enough Acc generators to make it effective.

Yeah, I pretty much agree with everything you just mentioned. I thought about Blockade Run as I can really mess with the speed control of my main ships. Ozzel speed changes make it really hard to target the ships. I should be able to come in fast, slow down, and then shoot by again at top speed to avoid the most dangerous arcs. I only thought about Close Intel because I have H9's on both MC30's. They can generate Acc on every shot they take. But, in the long run I probably will need my Acc instead of getting a victory token out of it. 10pts. per Acc can add up pretty quick though...

MC30's like anything that makes their navigates better and more unpredictable since they like to Nav a lot, and they are one of the few ships that can boast effective defenses against bombers.

That said, the Pelta is going to have a huge target on it's head for any fast counter-flanker like an enemy MC30 or Gladiator. Given that, I would probably risk APTs on the Pelta just to reduce the points I donated to them by a little and make a side/rear flank a little more dangerous.

Actually, I am planning on changing out Expanded Launchers for External Racks once the card comes out. That alone saves me 10pts. and boom! I have a bid...LOL.

That is an even better idea! Idea was 99% points savings driven and External racks gives you that 360 degree prickly arc that will force some pain back on a flanker. Expanded launchers is nice, I just felt like on a Pelta it would never ever get used because it is just too easy to flank.

I just worry about those VCX's getting to do...well, anything at all. They're just going to get swamped by even the smallest speed-bump. Feels like dead points to me, is all.

The VCX's are there for the second two objectives. To either pull the VIP token where I want it, or pull at least two (hopefully all 4 if my opponent doesn't bring relay as well) of the salvage run tokens. Once that is done, anything else they provide is gravy. Plus, with 8 hull they aren't THAT easy to kill.
