We started league play last night with a pilot draft. As expected, I ended up with Garven Dries.

We had 75 points to build a squad around our pilot. We couldn't use any other named pilots or large based ships. Here's my list.

Garven Dries + R2-D2 + IA

Gold Sqd Pilot + BTL-A4 + R5-P9 + TLT

Green Sqd Pilot + A-Wing Test Pilot + Chardaan Refit + A Score to Settle + Crack Shot

We then played an "Exhibition Game" to get acquainted with our squad. I faced the following list and won:

Darth Vader + Predator

Shadow Sqd Pilot

Black Sqd Pilot + Expert Handling

As expected, my Y-wing was his primary target and it went down in the 5th round (but after it took out Vader in the 4th). I was hoping for more survivability from the Y-wing by feeding R5-P9 focus tokens to recover shields. However, I had trouble getting him the tokens due to Garven bumping or being stressed.

So, what change, if any, should I make to increase the Y-wings survivability? Replace R5-P9 with R5-D8? Concentrate on flying Garven better so he has the focus token to give? Other ideas?

The only way to keep the Stresshog y-wing alive is Biggs, which you can't do. I would say take the title off and change the droid, It's easier to run and shoot with the Y if you don't have to keep the target in your arc.

I love the idea of this league.

Remove title, switch to R2 Astromech with Bomb Loadout and a Seismic Charge.

I like having three shots in a row but yes, having the freedom to fly would help.

It's been fun so far. An interesting challenge. Our points go up by 25 each week until we hit 200. 200 will be fun!

I've never played with bombs so I may have to try this!

*Or R4-D6, which will occasionally save a damage.
