On the subject of ddi.

Having on line tools to build characters ect

Somethings are nice to have like a name generator , treasure ect but they are not essential.

My feelings are that this system has it all boy its fun writing stories for this game. I need no prep time for npcs i can run on the fly. It seems simple to balance ecounters and i love that.

Rpg's will always be pen and paper once you move on line its a different experience its like a computer game the interaction is not the same it cant be.

Why would you need an ddi maybe a dedicated supported fan web site covering some of your points would be nice however again its still early lets see what happens ?

It doesn't sound like you understand what DDI is or what tools it provides.

It's not a move to playing online. What you get is a single source for all the printed material, as well as tools to generate PCs and Monsters utilizing that information. As someone who uses it, I can say that it cuts down on prep-time considerably (as well as alleviates the need to own every single book).

I don't know, though if WFRP would really benefit from this as much as D&D. Printing up monsters can be accomplished by buying the PDFs, and character generation could really only be aided if they could add a tool to list and generate the cards (which is off the table for now).

If they could work out the IP issues, then some form of card tool would make it all work.

Its not a matter of disagreeing, you are suggesting that the data you are presenting is fact, and it isn't. As far as DDI, yeah we can disagree on that, but making up statistics and "facts" about another game to help prove your point doesn't help anyone.

I would definitely support FFG having PDF only releases that developed parts of the Old World (adding much needed setting information to the current game) as well as PDFs with supporting NPCs, monsters and enemies. The medium is there to use.. why not use it?

Ok mate i tried to be kind

My sources come from my own research which i did as an artical for the times newspaper here in england.

You might have heard of it...

Anyway the facts i give are based on that research i am not saying its 100% data factual we all know statistics rumours and lies. However the point of my article showed how poor this edition had been recieved by its fans.

Are you telling me its a success and i am wrong.

Why do so many reviews written i may add after my review just go on to continue to show poor support.

Maybe its you who cannot except fact.

Do not turn this into a series of personal attacks. Return to the forum topic, or refrain from posting.

Could you link to the article? I'd be interested in reading it.

As would I.

* Check your DDI account and reference the user list (still around 25k). The base cost is around $6.00 per month. I believe it's multiplication that would be the proper maths :) There is a lot of untapped opportunity here for us to get more goods for a nominal cost..or we can sit around and ***** about why the cheese got moved or the lightbulb burned out IMHO..and wait for stuff to come out 3 times a year.

Here's a thread on Enworld that I initially posted to get some notes from the D&D fanboys: www.enworld.org/forum/general-rpg-discussion/271372-what-kind-hit-did-dungeons-dragons-insider-take-year-after-subscriptions-started-huge.html

And the obligatory post to Rpg.net where you can get any stick-in-the-mud idiot savant worked up over any change to the rain-man routine there: forum.rpg.net/showthread.php

204422 that the current users on the new wotc boards since about 10 months ago. Keep in mind that also counts magic users. But given that many are just on the boards, clearly there are many many more 4E players than 100k.
