Companions: do you keep it for next mission? (e.g. Pit Droid)

By D14 Diabolos, in Imperial Assault Campaign

Hello,

I'm new to the forums and I've tried to google/search the forums for few answers, but have not found the definitive answers I need.

In Jabba's Realm expansion you can possibly find an companion: Pit Droid that can fetch you crates, the card also says that players receive 50 credits, if droid survives till end of the mission (i.e. assuming droid looks through piles of junk in its spare time and finds valuables).

Now the question is that does the player who found the companion, keep it for upcoming missions until it's destroyed? Meaning the Pit Droid search card should be kept out of search deck till it becomes 'available' (prev. destroyed as only one companion of the same name allowed on the board at any time)?

Thank you very much in an advance!

Any items gained from crates, including the pit droid, are discarded at the end of the mission they were found.

However, there are some companions that can stay around. Murne's reward, for instance.

Pit Droid Companion only enters play from the Pit Droid supply card, and supply cards are shuffled at the start of a mission.

So, if the Pit Droid Companion is not defeated during the mission, it stays on the old map, and does not get deployed to the new one unless someone draws the Pit Droid supply card again. :D
