A lot of Armada players play Imperial Assault but only some Imperial Assault players play Armada....?

I have been thinking of ways to combine these two game, but that's for a different thread.

Like playing Rebellion and using Armada for the space battles and IA for the ground missions and setting aside a year to play? Because that's what I want to do......

Likewise,

But, it's a very complicated road to hoe. My group (incl. @Tvboy and @Admiral Theia) and I are working on something, but working on it from the ground up with CC as the base rather than Rebellion. I do think that there are some basic concepts from Rebellion that might be useful. Also, I don't think that IA is a good planet-conquering mechanic. For that we would actually need a larger-scale game. However, IA would be great for dramatizing some of the Strategic Effects (e.g. killing diplomats, sabotaging repair yards, stealing resources, etc.).

BTW., I do think that within the next couple of years we shall see FFG produce a mass ground combat game. That will be awesome.

I'm going to use Risk: Star Wars Original Trilogy Edition (2006) as a base. Each troop on the Risk board equals x deployment points for an IA skirmish. Each planet gets values similar to CC. Each ship is assigned a troop transport value based on it's base point value/x. This is all a WIP, but given an infinite amount of time and resources, could be completed before the heat death of the universe...

Argh! just a brief look at the map of that game is annoying. It's like the creators knew better, and just trashed the map anyways.

I know, I know, gameplay>lore, but.... frustrating.

Also, Rebellion has some problems.

But still.
