Just finished up Dunwich Scenario:1A on standard difficulty and it was much easier than anything from the core set.
We used Wendy, Roland, and Skids and I am wondering if this scenario is just that easy or if this party just works this well together? We used a different party for the core and never used these 3 together before tonight.
Perhaps the peices just fell into place for you, it happens sometimes. I don't think your party is either particularly well suited, or ill suited, to tackle the scenario.
That being said whichever scenario you choose to do first tends to be easier. The scenario you choose to do second tends to be difficult. I find The House Always Wins as the second scenario can be quite brutal, and for that reason I typically play it first. Anyway, good luck on The House Always Wins!
It's probably worth noting that 1A always has a "bad" outcome if played first, even if you succeed at (one of) the primary objective(s).
Without spoilers I would say yes - the first mission in Dunwitch is definitely easy. It gets tougher as you go, and depending on certain actions it can get much more challenging. If you think it was easy after you've completed it all, then try a harder difficulty next time ^_~

Dunwitch has 2 scenarios you can pick between to start with. If you start with A then you play B next, or vice versa. You can only get the "best" ending from the first one you choose, the other one forces you to get the "good" ending at most. Which one you pick first is going to be much easier than the one you do pick second as you have an entire extra agenda card worth of time to get through it.
If you feel the missions stay too easy, then you should definitely fail to save the students, cheat at the casino, and take the necronomicon. That will spice up your game some.
Play it on Hard.

At this point, it seems as if the choice between the two scenarios is more between the Elder Thing token and Naomi's crew not having your back. That is, assuming Naomi's having your back pays off in pack 5 or 6.

I'm playing as Daisy and with her special ability the Necronomicon (which I have actually gotten into play most of the following scenarios) has turned her into an absolute beast. One of my most valuable assets definitely.

There's another Necronomicon you will encounter later in the campaign that he was referring to. Not Daisy's signature asset.

That's the one I'm talking about. Daisy's signature card version of The Necronomicon is her signature weakness and is only negative in nature. The ability of the Necronomicon found during the campaign combines with Daisy's special ability in a VERY powerful way.

The necronomicon is very good - and Daisy would love it especially - but you get a 1 off in your deck while everyone deals with the added chaos token always. It adds the totem type, which can be worse than the auto-fail. If you do all 3 of these steps you get 1 tablet and 2 totem tokens added to the bag which can really spice up the game 
Also of the 3 things, only the Necronomicon gives you any benefit after the scenario, and it comes last in line - so you'll have been dealing with a tablet and totem up until you get the necronomicon and add a 2nd totem.
I call the Totem Token an Elder Thing Token. Is it named totem?
The official designation is Elder Thing. I decided to keep the Necronomicon because both the synergy with Daisy and I felt storywise as a character it's what she would choose. And overall in this campaign it's been the right choice. I've been able to play it early on regularly and it's made a huge difference. If I play through again as someone other than Daisy might make the other choice.

Broken Tablet, Cultist, Skull, Elder Thing (looks like a tentacled heart), Auto-Fail or Tentacles, and Elder Sign (blue star), are the official names.

You can dig it out with the Research Librarian, so it's not that bad. Plus, it might have some plot implications later on...
It does have a potential impact on the resolution of "Blood On The Altar". There are two ways to "win" in that scenario and whether you have it in play changes the resolution of one of those methods of winning. On the negative side in a couple of scenarios if you have it and are defeated, the bad guys get ahold of it and you lose it from your deck.

I never said the necronomicon is bad. What is BAD is that you add a very bad token to the chaos bag that all investigators must live with through the entire campaign. The elder thing token is sometimes worse than auto-fail depending on the scenario. If you do all 3 things I listed you added a tablet and TWO elder things to the bag. This makes the bag objectively more challenging for everyone in the campaign.
I never said the necronomicon is bad - I only said taking it would spice up the game. I don't know where anyone got the idea I meant the necronomicon was bad... I named 3 things you can do in the first few missions that add bad tokens to the draw bag... It doesn't matter that the necronomicon is a great item - it still adds another elder thing token to the chaos bag that everyone must draw from for every skill check in they make... This is something that will make the game more interesting.

I was a bit irritated with how that played out. I had the necronomicon in my hand when we finished that scenario.

I actually had it in play, I was just afraid to take the time necessary to get the clues and I had a quick easy way to go for the kill. And I didn't know about the difference in resolutions.
