Character App Character Developement

By Spidey NZ, in Imperial Assault Campaign

Hey guys. I posted an update to my character App Here

Im looking for some ideas of different TIER levels for each character that i can illustrate different designs for.

what i need from you is some ideas of some different progression levels of each character in Imperial Assault that i can illustrate. it can be the most common builds, or it could be something that may just look kickass. the character doesnt need to have all weapons and equipment from the specific TIER, there just has to be progression a feeling of leveling up. this will change as the user selects items and XP in the APP

Example of progression

MHD-19

Default: starting weapon

TIER 1: Marksmen barrel Mod, Medpack Accessory

TIER 2: E-11, Combat coat, Extra ammo, Medpack Accessory

TIER 3: E-11, Marksmen Barrel Mod, Tactical Display Mod, Laminate Armour, Bacta Pump, emergency injector, Systems upgrade, extra Ammo

Let me know in the comments some combinations (I need to give Gaarkhan the cybernetic arm though :) )

any suggestions on combinations and characters i can start illustrating next?

Could you explain a bit how the tiers work?

If you're looking for characters for next, maybe someone with a really visually interesting reward- Mak?

It's a little hard to go through all the characters and all the combinations of items they may or may not use.

I'd suggest trawling through the play-by-forum pages on boardgamegeek and see what sort of items purchases happen most often.

The Accessories like Bacta Pump and Emergency Injector probably come up a lot. Each character might need a drawn version with one of those.

The Item upgrades like Underbarrel, Tac Display, Extended Haft, Weighted Head etc may also be worth considering a drawn version of too...

thanks. not just whats practical, but what could look awesome too my example would be

eg. Garkhaan with a cybernetic arm, laminate armour and Ryyk Blades as a Tier 3 illustration

I suppose you have to do what you want to in the end.

Most people who will use the app will probably be disappointed that the item they just bought isn't represented for their character.

That said, I completely understand the massive undertaking it would take to draw all the possible combinations.

Hence my suggestion of data-mining the play-by-forums. They're going to be your best indicator of what upgrades actual players are taking with which heroes...

cheers, thanks for the feedback. yeah all the combinations were becoming too much to draw. i guess if i focus on aesthetics and make good illustrations the users will be happy when the character images change
