How many decks does every one have?

By DJRAZZ, in Star Wars: Destiny

I am not in competition just curious. I buy singles so I have spent a fortune to get my complete set of Awakenings and 6 full and ready decks. Just wondering if that is small potatoes or pretty good in comparison to everyone. I do consider this Forum fun and full of great people but also full of what I believe are mostly serious players.

I have 3 right now

Four: two competitive, two casual.

I generally have two built at a time. Deck building is quick enough that I don't feel there's much reason to have more than that, and it limits the amount of extra cards I need to keep around.

Technically 2 but only 1 atm is really playable.

With set 3 I'd like to have a few, but we'll see what happens with card availability and pulls.

2

I started with two, (one for each hero and villain) and added more as I got more cards. I used to have six built, but I kept wondering if I should change stuff up and then when I did, I had to move stuff around because it was in other decks. I also felt that it was too static playing the same few decks over and over, and I wasn't experimenting enough.

So now I actually have no decks built, and I just pull out my whole enourmous deck box whenever I play. Deck building only takes a couple minutes anyway, and I don't like feeling that my decks are suboptimal or that I'm just playing the same thing over and over.

Honestly, it's also due to lack of cards. Jetpack and Force Speed end up in almost all of my decks, and I'm happy only having two each in my collection - not sure I'm ready to spend that much money on this game yet!

This sounds like me. I only have 3 that are really mine. I have 2 others that are built for people who play the game with me. They seem happy with them so that is good. I like to change it up so my decks change as well. And Kieransi, shame on you. We need you and everyone here. :)

I keep 2-3 on the go at any one time, one tournament deck and a couple of casual or experimental.(one hero one villain).

I mostly play casual around the kitchen table with the family, so I tend to keep 4 decks built. I try to vary the factions and colors so their isn't a much of a card shortage for any particular deck. I've attempted collect 2 of each Villain/Hero card and 4 of each Neutral, but there are definitely cases where I have less than that. The means occasionally our decks may feel a tad suboptimal but for a fun game with the kids, I'm not hung up about it.

I'm a very experimental player and tend to have between 2-4 decks built at any one time. I don't know if this is good or bad for the people I play against at my Flgs, as they never know what they are going to be playing against when they play me, where I find some others decks quite predictable. I also don't truly know what my best deck is as I am always swapping things around.

have 2 ready to play. About 8 more on the deck builder app that could be put together within minutes

I'm constantly experimenting and tweaking things as well. Deck building is quite fun and challenging in this get.

To the OPs question, I have 5-7 at any given time.

I try to collect 2 of every villian/hero and 4 of every other. It allows be to build a hero and villian deck even though I'm running 2 villian decks at the moment. It makes it nice to go to the game store to play . Having two decks insures that anyone can play and when cards were more sparse it helped keep enthusiasm up.

I find this a great way to try and get, or keep, people interested in the game. My game store also has a couple of decks that they loan out or use to help new players learn the game. I don't mind loaning a second deck I have built to a different player to see how it plays from a different perspective and they sometimes spot card plays or interactions that I may have missed.

I usually aim to have 3 decks constructed at any time.

One for competitive play. Whatever I happen to be playing at that time, tends to change.

Two fun decks for more social play to either switch between as I feel like it or to introduce new players.

I usually keep Han/Rey, Dooku/Kylo, Vader/Raider and Bala/Jango/Trooper together. Those decks dominated our meta so I keep them together so my play group can quickly try new ideas against them.

Will be adding ePalp and Poe/Maz to this group as well if I get enough cards to keep them together.

Cool guys. Sounds like we are all on the same page. Again I was just curious. I guess I wanted to know if I was a normal SWD gamer, lagging behind, or just insane.

Typically, I'll have two decks built at a time: usually one Hero and one Villain, usually one mono-blue melee and the other red-yellow ranged. I've switched things around recently to have six decks, one for each faction/color combination. These decks are obviously less competitive, but its nice to have a few different options on hand when I play with my SO (and the lower power level also makes the games less cut throat!). More so, it lets me use characters and cards that are fun, but wouldn't necessarily cut it in a tournament.

That said, I have all the cards I need for my current competitive deck (and Store Championships contender) sleeved and its easy enough to whip that deck together at a moment's notice if I need.

Half of one. About to order a ton more stuff though.

I keep 2 constructed at a time, in two nice little deck boxes that each keep a full deck and up to 12 dice. Usually a hero and a villian, although I generally make a new deck after every tournament

Usually have one of two ready to go.

I got 4.

-1 competetive Poe/Maz

- 1 semi competetive Amidala mill that lacks few cards

- 2 casual (Kylo/Trooper/Bala and Quigon/Something) that are mostly thrown from leftovers but works rather nice in casual games.
