Wired and target lock

By Raven19528, in X-Wing Rules Questions

This is a fairly specific question, and I'm pretty sure I'm right, but just wanted to verify.

So hypothetical here, I have Zeta Leader with Wired and Weapons Guidance. Let's say I also have a target lock on the opponent and a focus token. Ability for stress and extra red die, I roll hit, focus, blank.

Can I spend the target lock to reroll the blank, and then if I get another blank, use Wired on the focus result? I know each die can only be rerolled once, but as those are two different effects, I'm pretty sure I could do that.

For those not picking up what's going on, Weapons Guidance allows me to spend a focus token to turn one blank into one hit. So I reroll the blank first to try and get any symbol, because then I could spend the focus for its regular effect and get three hits. When it comes up blank again, I reroll the focus result to try to get a hit as I now plan to use Weapons Guidance to turn that blank into a hit.

Yes, you could do that. You can trigger any of those mods in whatever order you prefer, and you can use as many reroll effects as you have dice, potentially, but not more than that.

Yes, you just have to make sure you are clear to the other player what you are doing (they could wrongly assume you used your TL twice or something). Remember the defender gets to mod first, so they may have card affects that can change your results and mess with your plan.

I'd also say yes, but making sure you opponent understood that you chose to reroll your dice 'one by one'.
