Class of 77

By Raging Celt, in Star Wars: Imperial Assault

It's surreal it has been forty years! Here's to forty more! A toast to those that were a part of 1977. Here here to all that followed!

When 40 years old they reach, look so good [many movies] will not.

I was eight years old and my aunt took me to see Star Wars in Longmont, Colorado.

Fantastic! I see myself playing x-wing and IA when I'm 80!

I always figured most of the members here were wiser than me, but not necessarily older. I'm 25, but I still consider "my" Star Wars to be the original trilogy, even though I was prime age when the prequels were released (though, I did enjoy them at the time).

I introduced my wife to Star Wars in late 2015 (right before TFA) and while she seems to like the newest trilogy so far (I think it's becoming "her" Star Wars), she really loves the prequels too.

I saw Return of the Jedi when it was first released. Little to young for the two first movies of OT to see them in cinema.

Being old enough to have seen the original in a Drive in with my parents and then the following ones in theatres I remember being in the Star Wars Fan club in Elementary school, I think I was in around grade 6 at the time, and reading about the 3rd movie in production then titled "Revenge of the Jedi".

Yeah I remember the marquee proclaiming Revenge of the Jedi. Man. That was cool!

Oh hey. Was there an endless debate on how to pronounce Boba Fett's name? (Bobba versus Bohba)

I was 2 when the original film came out. Mum took me to see it anyway (with my older sister), my first cinema experience!

I was asleep before the film even started, managed to sleep all the way through the opening scene, woke up to vaguely remember some old people talking (possibly uncle Owen and Aunt Beru? Or Luke and Obi-Wan?), thought it was boring, and went back to sleep.

still, my mum bought me the little chewbacca action figure on the way home so I was happy ???

(never quite sure whether I can claim to have "seen" the original back in 1977 based on this experience! I was there, at least....)

You made it to the theater- that's pretty cool, at least!

I remember in grade school someone claiming his name was pronounced "Bobba Fat", in all seriousness. Still don't get that.

I saw Ep IV opening weekend when I was 10 with my Mom, R.I.P., she bought me all the action figures/trading cards. I wish I had them now.

Good times!

Not that I can recall clearly. As far as I remember we all just pronounced it Bohba.
