[CCL] Scum Revision Phase

By Babaganoosh, in X-Wing

We have our two winning submissions for Scum expansion packs for season 2! SS-54 and Dead or Alive aces pack won the first round of voting, and now it is time to refine these two submissions. During this revision phase, anyone can take elements from these expansion packs, make changes to them (such as increasing or decreasing price or changing abilities), and submit those revised cards for another round of voting. After this second round of voting, these cards will be semi-final - they will be reviewed one more time before the CCL season 2 Vassal extension is put together by a small committee to address possible balance issues and to make final minor adjustments.

In the revision phase for these expansions, I'm going to split up the cards in each pack during the revision voting, instead of having whole-expansion revision entries.

Cards and elements that directly affect the power level (fix cards that are not mutually exclusive, core elements of a custom ship) of each other are going to be grouped together. Cards that are more independent will be individually revised. If you want to revise a card that is part of a group, your revision entry needs a version of each card in the group, even if you did not make a revision on that card. Here's how the cards will be split:

SS-54: .EON FILES

All pilots + maneuver dial + Halo title

All other cards may be revised individually

Dead or Alive: .EON FILES

All cards may be revised individually

I'm taking a vacation soon, so these revisions are going to be due on June 19. Plenty of time to think!

Thanks for participating!

Could you add the links to the google drive docs as well for ease of reference (instead of having to load up individual files to look at it or go searching for old threads)?

sure, I'll put those in the folders

The Halo isn't a bad ship, it just doesn't feel very interesting to me, it's a very 'Wave 2' pack all told.

Certainly the title could and should be a little more interesting. How about playing with the 'Scum Sideboard' that the C-ROC introduced.

Halo

SS-54 only. Title.

At the start of the first round you may equip a Scum Only crew upgrade that costs 3 or fewer squad points, treat that upgrade as if it cost 0 squad points.

3 points

I actually really like that one. Also encourages the use of some of the pricier crew, and makes for an unpredictable build.

Hi everyone!

I'm back and ready to get moving on the scum revisions. Please finalize and submit your revisions by June 25, and we'll put them to a vote!

So, when's voting?

I don't think I have any official entries at the moment t. I'm going to ping the usual suspects, but if we don't get any entries we'll move on without a vote

So this is something I have found with running tourneys on vassal- the longer the competition goes on, the more rapidly interest dies out (go figure. Pretty sure it's this way for most things lol). Just something to take note of for the next season of this. By the time we got around to scum, I think a lot of us had already checked out, but I'm only speaking for myself.

outside of the lengthy timetable though, I think things have gone pretty well, and shortening the process I'm certain would prove difficult.

I am considering going to micro seasons where we do one or two expansions at a time to keep things fast paced

Ok. If Mangipan want to enter his redo of the Halo title, could you mod one for me and enter it? My computer is temperamental at the moment.

I'll submit an updated Halo title once I finish work today.

I think just about everything in both packs are pretty solid with two exceptions. First is Sugi crew is WAY to good for the cost. Combined with Glitterstim or Attanni and she might as well give a re-enforce token to everyone at range 1. So she should either be something like 4 points or once per round at one point. Defensive upgrades always cost more for a reason(well they should but they kind screwed up with Latts there lol) Second is Wing Leader needs a timing trigger. I think it probably works best if you add "at the start of the compare dice results step..."
