Card errata with reprints

By Hindrick, in Arkham Horror: The Card Game

Hi!

Will the newly reprinted, soon to ship, "The Dunwich Legacy" core be reprinted with the updated card errata, or do I always have rely on having the FAQ around at all times?

Normally, you'd rely on the FAQ. Although, in fairness, you don't need to constantly check the FAQ or anything. Check it once while building your deck, noting which cards might be impacted and then again as you're getting ready to play a scenario.

Since this game isn't competitive, it's more about having fun than winning. No TO is going to disqualify you for getting a rule wrong. If you screw up a rule, but still have fun, you're winning.

Thanks for answering!

In fairness, after I've compared the specific cards text, the changes were really minimal. Not even something I had to be concerned about. I'm just used to other more competitive games, and how important errata is.

Have a great day!

It's unlikely. It's a bit more complicated than just going in and changing the card in FFG's files.

They may do it down the road, if they have to or choose to make significant changes to the core set (such as when LotR added difficulty modes to the core set, which modified the encounter set icons on many cards).

But with just a few cards to change, it isn't really worth it.

I seem to remember an interview or response where someone said they'd be updating the signature cards to fix the issues there, but I honestly don't know if it meant reprints of the current set, or just new product going forward.

In LOTR LCG the re-prints always reflected the newest errata. I would expect the same here, considering it is from the same company, developer, ect.

For what it's worth, according to the editor, French reprint will include the errata

Latest reprints of core sets include updated rulebooks and new printings of errata'd cards - including signature cards without the pips 'slot'

That's great! Glad it gone done quickly. :)
