So my Zeltron Bounty Hunter from D20/Saga had a YT-1930. Converting it to this system is proving to be a little frustrating. It seems like there's more art to the ships than a set system, and at moderate scrutiny there doesn't seem to be a hard conversion rate to stats within FFG's system. Getting stats from D20 to FFG is fairly simple:

4/4/0 (Sil/Spe/Han)

1/0/0/1 (Defense); 3 (Armor)

22/16 (HT/SS)

Hyp class 2/12; Nav Yes

Sensor Short

Pilot and Co-Pilot

330 (Enc)

6 (Passengers)

2 months (Consumables)

135,000 (Price new)

6 (Hard Points)

1 Weapon

But this is very stat-dense. From what I've seen there are some definite winner ships (Vak'sai, Firespray, Ghtroc, Nova Courier) which are very stat-dense for the price, especially the Nova Courier, and so I'm waffling on if it is appropriate. I'm also not sure if I'm over or under valuing Enc, Speed, Handling, or hardpoints compared to Armor, Hull, Passengers, sensors, Hyperdrive, or weapons. It may just be that I'm valuing the speed and Enc way more than the lower armor and weapons compared to the Ghtroc or Nova.

I get what you are saying about the FFG ships but thats more because the system isn't that granular so similar ships will have the same basic stats. The best way to handle this is to find the most similar ship and copy it but re-skin it as the new one, add a couple of notes and unique features or abilities and don't get caught up on having the mechanics different. Remember your player's and their ship are the focus of the story and they are unique by the very fact they are PCs, not because their stats have to be.

Very similar. I had lower HT and better handling, but other than that looks the same. Looking at that and their SS-54 makes me feel better about the stat range.

YEah. I use their YZ-900 as the basis for my signature character's ship.

Was the YT-1930 not one of those with a better armored hull, similar to the YT-2400?

If I remember correctly, when it was given stats for an unmodified Freighter for the first time under D20 it even had more hull points than the YT-2400.

Summing up, I think armor 4 would be more fitting.
