we don't have much, just the basics, falcon bomber, 2 basic, a-wing, b-wing, y-wing. really basic, no really big ships, are there any cards that you think have helped you win in basic sets? I would like pictures if possible.
i need help choosing
Well you should at this point still get what you think is cool ship! Rebel player?
Get 2 jumpmasters, they come with mindlink and according to the community it is unbeatable and OP.
Well as you said you really don't have much, so with your collection there isn't much to build. I remember my humble beginnings in Wave 3 where I did the one of each with exception of a TIE Fighter which was my first double on it besides a 2nd core set. at the time it looked like I was spoiled for choice but I couldn't do the 4 B-wings or 8 TIE swarm that was at the top at that time so I didn't have much of a choice. As I got more and more ships (but fewer doubles) I find myself in a similar position (and I only have 1 jumpmaster). I depends on your collection plan as you are going into competitive.
With your selection not much. Looks like you plan on playing rebels, so I would suggest trying to get a few K-wings since you don't want big ships. However if all you are doing is casual cinematic missions what you got is fine, there really is no suggestions on what is good or what is bad. Try everything out and see what works or doesn't and why. After you do and when you decide to get into competitive and buy the ships that exist outside of episodes IV-VI you would have a better understanding on what makes a good build and what does not.
I would advise you buy Rebel and Imperial aces. That will give the Imperial side some good tools, while giving your rebels the little boost they need to not die immediately in tournaments.
are you saying don't play until I get more? I wanted to know if you had any idea which cards are really good on what, sorry for not being specific, we also have the weird P looking ship,

This.
You'll be able to build a nice little Rebel Swarm kinda squad that'll do quite well in the middle of the power curve. If you want to run against the tournament meta, you'll need to go K-Wing, VCX, Biggs, Stresshog kinda way to gain real average traction.
But if you want some auto wins and ride the power wave, you'll need a pair of JK5s and a Protectorate. RauBoats is not Star Wars, but it's fun to run such power and maneuverability dovetailed with absolute synergy. But I shouldn't push this as it is evil and should be nerfed to oblivion soon if FFG has any sense.....so, stick to Rebels sans Sabine and Biggs as they may get chopped soon too if there is any logic left in corporate offices of FFGs X-Wing game.
Yes, I'm a bit salty when talking about "what's really good" in X-Wing....for it is, but it shouldn't be.
this isn't going the way i wanted it to, i will not follow any more.

I think the first responders misinterpreted your post. You were looking for list help with what you had already purchased, and they were feeding you info on how the maximize your winning potential... budget be damned.
You can in fact win small events with what you have, however... You shouldn't step up to the plate expecting victories. I'm two years... er.. maybe three? and I still haven't won a tournament. I own a much larger collection as well, so buying your way to victory isn't really a thing... (though close to it with Jumpmasters...)
Get out, fly some events with what you have. You have Biggs and the Falcon... Firm start there for a list.

I think you meant what upgrade cards you should put on your ships, right? And you have two Core Sets (red or blue?), the Millenium Falcon, the YT-2400, a TIE Bomber, and A-, B-, and Y-wings?
I think you can build a fairly effective Han Solo with Push the Limit, the Millenium Falcon title, and Engine Upgrade, or a fairly effective Dash Rendar with Push the Limit, the Outrider title, Heavy Laser Cannon, and Engine Upgrade. If you have the points, put Gunner or Luke Skywalker on them as well.
Out of the upgrades you have, your A-wing most wants Proton Rockets, I think, and Push the Limit if it's Tycho Celchu. Your B-wing loves Fire-Control System. Both of these ships can be flown with the lowest pilot skill pilots as cheap blockers. If you want a beefier B-wing, you could give it Heavy Laser Cannon. For the X-wing, Biggs Darklighter could be flown without any upgrades, keeping in Range 1 of your other ships to prolong their lifespan. Luke Skywalker probably most wants Lone Wolf or maybe Veteran Instincts, and definitely R2-D2. I guess Push the Limit has good synergy with R2-D2, too.
A sample list could be Han Solo OR Dash Rendar, as above (54 or 55), an A-wing Prototype Pilot with Proton Rockets (20), and a B-wing Blue Squadron Pilot with Fire-Control System (24) OR Biggs Darklighter (25), for somewhere between 98 and 100 points altogether.
You said you wanted pictures of the upgrade cards, so here are those for the list above, less the freighter title cards, which should be self-explanatory.
