Thus being able to honour/rehonour your guys might actually be important for the 'military' based clans, that used to largely ignore it.... because there is real repercussion. Good.

I hope we see Lion and Dragon able to handle honor in theme but have Crab struggle a bit more with honorifics as they have a very utilitarian view on it.

Gives a two-point honor swing (+1 to you, -1 to opponent), too.

At any rate, sometimes we have no choice but To Do What We Must.

What you did there. I see it.

Yea. So you win the Ring of Fire conflict, dishonor whichever character you'd like to discard, then play this event to discard them and sacrifice a less valuable character.

You have to choose an honored character from your side, not just anyone. So you need to both honor one of your people, and dishonor one of your opponent's.

Even the image is one man delaying the conflict through sacrifice....

Yeah but if an honorable person dies alone in the woods and nobody sees it except a dishonorable person......did it really happen?

:P

Only when it delays an army... ;)

Quick question:

Does sacrificing an honorable character still get you the honor for them leaving? Or is that only when they're discarded (due to an effect or just running out of fate?)

From what we know.. you will get the honour they will lose the honour for the dishonoured guy.

Unconfirmed. But likely gives you honour.

Shameful Display / Noble Sacrifice

C C C C C COMBO!!!

Although it does raise the question that if Hotaru and Kachiko are making out in public, one of them is perceived as honorable and the other dishonorable.....then when the honorable one kills herself the other dies dishonorably.......what's up with that?

The honor token reads "when this character leaves play". I strongly suspect you gain the honor.

Well, it seems like this card can be played outside of a conflict, so that is why it has no participation requirement in the first place. Consider that this noble sacrifice happens somewhere on the way to the battlefield and not at the conflict itself, thus both never arriv and have not to participate at the conflict.

Can we play conflict cards (cards from the conflict deck) outside of the conflict phase?

Yes there is a pre conflict phase action window after conflict cards are drawn but before the first conflict is declared.

I don't know that we have a concrete answer on that, but I'd suspect not (based on the name, if nothing else).

However, there is an action window after the Conflict Phase starts but before the first conflict is declared. (I don't know if we know of similar windows between conflicts or after the last conflict.)

Man the more I look at this card the more I'm disappointed that it actually isn't called "To Do What We Must."

Perhaps it's selfish for an older player to want that sort of nostalgia, but I'm all for them re-using good card names.

I agree... but I like this name as well. Maybe another card is To Do What We Must?

I would be all for it being an exploding Phoenix card, but the original specifically worked better with a Crane personality.

But yeah, Noble Sacrifice is a perfectly fine card name, but I always had a soft spot for To Do.

Crane cards are hilarious. Not that I will be laughing much when I suffer them though.

Perhaps the only time to fear a horse from someone besides the Unicorn.

Based on FFG's other games, it's possible to have action windows in many phases (AGoT has at least one action window in each phase, for instance). When they want to limit an action to a specific phase, they use designators like "Conflict Action" instead of "Action". Moreover, if your question is "can we play conflict cards outside of conflicts", then their other games strongly suggest so.

Destroying bridge is not honourable.... how could you even suggest that... that is tactical: See Lion!

Knew it was familiar. Its lethal now then.

Is there a topic/blog/something which has all the spoiled cards consolidated? Thanks!
